Disney has shared that they are collaborating with award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard on the music for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Both Morton and Blanchard are natives of New Orleans, and will be collaborating for the soundtrack to the ride. Morton will even be writing, arranging, and producing a brand new original song for the attraction.
Over the course of their careers, both artists have won Grammy Awards for their music. Terence Blanchard also has a connection to The Princess and the Frog — he played all of Louis the Alligator’s trumpet parts during the film.
Along with Morton’s work on an original song for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Terence Blanchard will be helming the musical arrangement for the ride’s queue. He will be working with Disney to select songs from The Princess and the Frog, as well as iconic New Orleans music and medleys. According to Disney, the music will borrow from different musical styles that either originated or took up residence in New Orleans. To showcase this, Disney also unveiled a new rendering of an Audio-Animatronic figure for Prince Naveen’s brother, Ralphie, which will be featured on the ride. They shared that the new Audio-Animatronic figures will “bring the invigorating sounds of New Orleans to life.”
