The May 2026 issue of WDW Magazine is titled “The Big Cheese,” and it’s our silliest idea yet: an issue all about, well, cheese. That means stories about Mickey Mouse (and other Disney rodentia), corny jokes, and our favorite cheesy dishes.
Tim here, Editorial Director of our print and digital magazines, and I’ve got something gouda to share. Our May issue of WDW Magazine is packed with jokes, stories about Mickey Mouse, and a guide to some of our favorite cheesy dishes at Walt Disney World.
The concept for this issue started as a joke in our annual content planning meeting, when our CEO suggested an issue called “The Big Cheese.” Since that’s a common nickname for Mickey Mouse, we all assumed this would be a Mickey-centric idea — but then our CEO suggested we talk not only about Mickey, but all our favorite Disney mice and rats, from Remy and Emile to Gus and Jaq to Minnie, Roquefort, and Rizzo the Rat.
But then, we took it a step further. What if we got a little silly in this issue, Jungle Cruise style? We decided to share stories about the things that make us laugh at Walt Disney World, especially cheesy jokes. And then, another idea: What if we also talked about cheese-based foods at Walt Disney World?
And suddenly, we had our zany vision: the cheesiest issue of WDW Magazine to date.
I’m so excited to share this silly issue with our readers. Below, I’ll share what’s inside “The Big Cheese,” how to get a copy, and what else comes with a magazine membership.
What’s Inside Our Cheesy Issue?
Our May 2026 issue is super cheesy; it’s a wonder we didn’t dedicate a story to Pauly Shore’s Leaning Tower of Cheese-ah from A Goofy Movie. But here are some of the cheesy stories about Walt Disney World that you will find among the pages of the magazine:
- Behind-the-scenes details about how the Jungle Cruise Skipper scripts get made
- The Imagineering secrets of Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- All our favorite kitchsy resort details
- A super-challenging Mickey Mouse quiz for mega fans
- The best charcuterie boards and wine and cheese pairings at Walt Disney World
- An interview with a psychologist about why we laugh on roller coasters — even when we’re scared
- A recipe for Le Cellier’s famous Cheddar Cheese Soup
- A guide to Emile’s Fromage Montage
- The best plant-based cheesy dishes at Walt Disney World
Plus, the issue is packed with stunning photography from around Walt Disney World. These gorgeous photos from our talented photographers support the stories and help further transport you to the parks. It’s the best way to feel like you’re at Disney — without actually being at Disney.
