by | Aug 12, 2022 | Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World News, WDW Blog

Find out what’s missing from Main Street in our Magic Kingdom Halloween decorations 2022 guide…

Town Square scarecrows, Main Street Jack O’Lanterns and … wait, where are the Mickey pumpkins?!

Main Street, U.S.A.’s Halloween transformation is complete! Just in time for the first night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. While we’re missing the Mickey pumpkins down Main Street (read below to see where to find them), it looks like a magical alternative has taken their place.

Grab a cup of your favorite Joffrey’s at-home coffee (Not-so-scary Pumpkin Brew feels right), and take a scroll down a Halloween-ified Main Street, U.S.A. with us.

Main Street, U.S.A.’s vintage horse-drawn trolley has been given a festive fall makeover. The top of the trolley is decorated with autumn leaves, sunflowers, and bows. In this photo from our reporter, Tina Chiu, you can also see the orange bunting that decorates many of the storefronts and buildings on the street.

They’re back and as gourd-geous as ever! Before you make a beeline for Cinderella Castle, be sure to check out the Main Street Jack O’Lanterns. Don’t let the hustle and bustle of Main Street, U.S.A distract you from finding the creatively-carved pumpkins scattered along the street.

Many of the pumpkins are carved with designs that represent the buildings where they’re displayed. How many have you found?

Pssst! We’ve got a cheat sheet that lists the buildings where you’ll find them. Let us know if there are any locations we missed!

Town Square Scarecrows

The citizens of Main Street, U.S.A. have returned! Well, not quite. These guys are a lot more “pumpkin-y” than we remembered, but we’ll take whatever we can get. Some of the scarecrow citizens you might run into during a trip to Town Square include …

… and finally, an overzealous marching band drummer that may have gotten a little too carried away (there’s a huge hole in his drum!).

Cinderella’s Carriage Pumpkins

The Cinderella’s Carriage pumpkin wreaths have returned to Magic Kingdom for the second Halloween season in a row! You’ll find them hanging from the streetlamps on Main Street, U.S.A. Each pumpkin carriage is monogrammed with the letter “C,” surrounded by a wreath of harvest-hued sunflowers, and accented with gold.

The Cinderella’s Carriage wreaths seem to be the only pumpkin wreaths on display at Magic Kingdom this year. Which begs the question …

What Happened To The Mickey Pumpkins?

Our reporters have spotted Mickey pumpkin only near the hub (the grassy area in front of the castle). It looks like there are now Cinderella’s Carriage pumpkins where you’d expect to see Mickey pumpkins from the entrance of the park all the way down Main Street.

With their gold accents, it looks like Magic Kingdom is going for a Halloween aesthetic that fits well within the existing 50th anniversary celebration decorations

With the 50th anniversary celebration ending on April 1, 2023, that could mean that the beloved Mickey pumpkins will once again light up Main Street next year.
