2022 Traditional Macaroni & Cheese Review
- Traditional Macaroni & Cheese; $5.00
- With herbed panko
“Overall, the mac and cheese dishes at Mac and Eats don’t have a lot of melted cheese on the noodles. It’s mostly mac, not much cheese happening. That should clue you in that the Traditional Mac and Cheese probably doesn’t have enough going on to warrant your festival dollars. The mac and cheese was pretty bland, it wasn’t as cheesy as I had hoped, although this would be a good snack for your child who’s a picky eater! Adults: Order the Cowboy Mac instead and you’ll thank me.”
2022 Chili-Cheese Macaroni & Cheese Review
- Chili-Cheese Macaroni & Cheese; $5.50
- 🥬 Plant Based
- With sour cream and cheddar cheese
“This is reminiscent of a walking taco situation from school lunch days. If that sounds like a great nostalgic trip for you, then indulge in this dish. If not, then this might be a bit of beans and not-so-melted cheese that could leave you wishing you’d ordered the Cowboy Mac instead. This was more like chili pasta, not much melty cheese happening here.”

2022 Cowboy Macaroni & Cheese Review
- Cowboy Macaroni & Cheese; $6.25
- With smoked pork belly, brisket burnt ends, pickled peppers, onion straws, and barbecue aïoli
“This was delicious! The pork belly was extremely tender. I loved the sauce and pickled veggies. Be sure to mix in the toppings because the noodles weren’t very flavorful by themselves.”
“The #1 gotta-order-it item on this menu. The pork belly is done very well and the burnt ends are one of the best morsels of the 2022 fest … it all works well with the noodles and cheese. This is also rather hearty, so if you’re looking to get a few other dishes at the fest, maybe share this one with a friend to spare your appetite!”
