Disney has revealed the date and name for the new EPCOT nighttime spectacular. Luminous The Symphony of Us will premiere this December.
Earlier this year, EPCOT’s nighttime spectacular Harmonious officially came to an end. Since it closed, the interim show EPCOT Forever has been taking place until Disney was ready to reveal a new nighttime spectacular at the park. While Disney has teased this new show for a while now, we have been waiting for more details — including a name and premiere date. However, we just got both of those at this weekend’s Destination D23 event!
Luminous The Symphony of Us to Premiere This December
Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro presented the “A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” panel. During the panel, he made several big announcements for Disney World fans to look forward to. This included reimagined concepts at Test Track and Country Bear Jamboree, as well as a potential new expansion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Another piece of information he revealed during the panel? The name and date for the new EPCOT spectacular! Luminous The Symphony of Us will officially premiere at EPCOT beginning on December 5th, 2023. Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World, joined D’Amaro on stage to announce the brand-new show. While details are still sparse, they did share that it will feature fireworks, fountains, lasers, lighting effects, and music.

Also this December, the World Celebration neighborhood of EPCOT will begin welcoming guests. World Celebration will unite the front of the park, tying together World Discovery and World Nature. This will complete the latest major milestone of the EPCOT transformation.

Disney also shared an opening date for Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, which will officially open on October 16th, 2023. We also learned that a Moana meet and greet will be available in World Nature beginning that same day. Plus, we learned that the highly anticipated Figment meet and greet will start on September 10th!
