Disney Springs has no shortage of entertainment, but its newest addition feels unlike anything else currently at Walt Disney World.
Level99 officially opens on the West Side of Disney Springs on June 29, bringing more than 60 interactive challenge rooms, competitive games, and a massive social gaming venue to the shopping and dining district. We were invited to attend the grand opening celebration, where we watched the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, explored the venue before it opened to the public, and tested several of the games ourselves.
Whether you’re looking for a rainy day activity, planning a date night, or simply want a break from the theme parks, here’s everything you need to know before visiting Level99 at Disney Springs.
A Grand Opening Unlike Any Other
Even the ribbon cutting set the tone for what guests can expect inside Level99.
Instead of the traditional oversized scissors, Level99 swapped them out for a ceremonial axe custom-fabricated by the company’s Massachusetts team, a nod to one of the venue’s signature games, Axe Run.

Joining the celebration were Level99 Founder and CEO Matt DuPlessie, Chairman of the Board Ron Shaich, Disney Springs Vice President Debbie Hart, and Megan Crosby, Vice President of Operating Participants for The Walt Disney Company. Together, they officially welcomed the entertainment venue to Disney Springs before DuPlessie immediately stepped onto the Axe Run course, becoming the very first guest to play the attraction inside the new location.
The playful ceremony perfectly reflected the atmosphere throughout the venue. Rather than feeling formal, the opening encouraged everyone to jump in, laugh, compete, and start playing.
What Is Level99 at Disney Springs?
If you’ve never visited a Level99 before, it’s easiest to start with what it isn’t.
It’s not an escape room, where you’re locked into a single story for an hour. It’s also not an arcade, where success depends on how many tickets you can win.
Instead, Level99 is made up of dozens of short, interactive challenge rooms that combine physical activity, puzzles, teamwork, and problem-solving. Most experiences last between one and four minutes, allowing groups to complete as many different challenges as possible during their visit.

Some rooms have you climbing, balancing, or racing against the clock. Others require observation, memory, communication, or strategy. Every completed challenge earns points, which are tracked through your wristband and displayed on scoreboards throughout the venue.
One of our favorite aspects was how quickly the experience moves. If one challenge isn’t your favorite (or proves a little harder than expected), you simply head to the next room. There isn’t the pressure of spending an hour trying to solve one puzzle, making the experience feel approachable even for first-time visitors.
Beyond the challenge rooms, guests will also find competitive arena-style games, a full-service restaurant and bar, and plenty of seating areas where groups can take a break between rounds.
Who Is Level99 for at Disney Springs?
Walking through the venue, one thing became immediately clear: this isn’t designed for just one type of guest. Families with older children, groups of friends, couples on date night, coworkers looking for team-building activities, and even competitive adults will all find something to enjoy here.
While several rooms involve climbing, crawling, or quick reflexes, others are entirely focused on logic and communication. Because of that variety, everyone in a group has an opportunity to shine. Someone who struggles with a physical challenge may be the person who solves the next puzzle in seconds.
That balance makes the experience feel collaborative instead of intimidating.

The venue is recommended for ages 10 and up to fully enjoy the challenges, though younger children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. We also noticed that because each challenge only lasts a few minutes, there’s very little downtime before you’re onto something completely different.
Disney Springs Vice President Debbie Hart believes that’s exactly why the concept fits so well on the West Side of Disney Springs. “The whole vibe in here fits for what we have on this side of our property,” Hart said during the opening celebration. “It lights up. It brings energy. It’s all what our West Side is all about.”

She also hinted that guests will continue discovering new experiences long after opening day.”I hope you all come back because we have so many good hits coming.”
That replay value may end up being one of Level99’s biggest strengths. With dozens of challenge rooms and different ways to compete, no two visits are likely to be exactly the same.
