Here’s your round-up of July 2022 Disney World refurbishments for closed attractions and resorts.
If you’re planning on visiting Walt Disney World (WDW) in July, you’ll want to know what isn’t going to be up and running during your trip.
But you won’t have to guess what’ll be open and temporarily closed in July! Each month, we compile a list of everything scheduled to undergo refurbishment in the month ahead.
It’s going to be a very quiet July at WDW when it comes to refurbishments, so enjoy that sweet summer heat with lots of ice cream and little concern for missing out on one of your favorite attractions.
Walt Disney World Railroad: Vehicle testing is still going on at TRON Lightcycle / Run, so it’s still possible if not likely that the WDW Railroad will be back by the end of the year.
The Chapeau: The Chapeau is still closed and will remain so for the rest of 2022. Until it reopens, Box Office Gifts at the Town Square Theater is where you’ll find those iconic mouse ears and Bonjour! Village Gifts is your destination for artwork and other commemorative souvenirs.
Festival of the Lion King: A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King, which opened last May, sees its final performance on July 4. After a short closure from July 5–15, the full Festival of the Lion King returns from the wilderness.
There are no refurbishments scheduled at EPCOT in July.
There are no refurbishments scheduled at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in July.
Blizzard Beach: We’re still awaiting word on the planned reopening of Blizzard Beach. Stay tuned for an official date!
WDW Resort Hotels
All-Star Sports Resort: The phased reopening of All-Star Sports continues as this popular resort gets some mild touchups and a fresh coat of paint.
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: There’s light construction and refurbishment taking place during the day at The Villas all throughout July. It’s all leading up to an awesome new expansion that should be completed by mid-2023.
There are no refurbishments scheduled for WDW Transportation in July.

Rides close often for regular service and maintenance, so any unexpected closures will likely only last for a short while. If nothing else, it’s just another excuse to come back and experience the magic again.
