2023 WDW Magazine Wall Calendar- Featuring Disney Castles of the World! On Sale Now!

Here’s your round-up of July 2021 Disney World refurbishments for closed attractions and resorts.

If you’re planning on visiting Walt Disney World (WDW) in July, you’ll want to know which attractions and resorts may not be up and running.

Well, you’ve come to the right place! Every month we compile a list of everything we know that’s either currently under refurbishment or is slated to close for refurb.

Have you heard the great news? Starting July 1, nighttime fireworks spectaculars are back at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

With that, let’s take a look at the current refurbishment schedule!

Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Railroad: The Walt Disney World Railroad is still closed due to the construction of TRON Lightcycle Power Run. A reopening date has yet to be determined.

The Hall of Presidents: The Hall of Presidents remains closed until further notice as Disney prepares to add the animatronic for President Joe Biden.

Main Street Confectionery: Your favorite spot for all things sweet on Main Street remains closed for refurb until further notice. The Main Street Confectionary closed on March 29, but you can get your confectionary fix at Emporium and Main Street Cinema in the meantime.

The Chapeau: The Chapeau also closed on March 29 for refurbishment with a reopening date TBD. Until then, you can get your Mickey Mouse ears and other hats at Box Office Gifts at the Town Square Theater and scoop up commemorative artwork and collectibles at Bonjour! Village Gifts.

Baby Care Center: Baby Care center is still set to reopen in the fall (with a fresh theme and more capacity) after closing for refurbishment in May. A temporary Baby Care Center has been set up in Tomorrowland at the former AAA Lounge next to the Carousel of Progress.

Keep in mind that heavy construction continues throughout the park, so expect lots of construction walls in Future World.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort: Refurbishment kicked off on guest rooms starting in April 2021 and are still ongoing. As it stands, some Main Tower rooms will be unavailable in July, but most areas and amenities are still available.

While we’re talking Contemporary: The Wave… of American Flavors and The Wave Lounge is closed for summer 2021 as it undergoes refurbishments for upcoming 50th anniversary celebrations. Act fast: You can still ride The Wave through July 15, 2021, if you make a reservation in time.

Disney’s Polynesian Village ResortThe Polynesian will reopen in late July 2021 following a recent overhaul. When it reopens, the Polynesian Village Resort will feature a new entryway design with revamped lighting elements, an updated Monorail station, and as-yet-unspecified “enhancements” to the gardens and fountains at the entrance.

Oh, and if you have your eye on one of the Polynesian’s new Moana-inspired guest rooms, the resort is taking bookings for late July.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas — Kidani Village: If you’re planning to visit next year, the Samawati Springs Pool will close for refurbishment from January 2022 through April 2022.

WDW Transportation

Disney Skyliner: Planning a visit to kick off the New Year? Starting Sunday, Jan. 23 through Thursday, Jan. 28, 2022, the Disney Skyliner will close between the International Gateway, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Guests will still be able to use Disney bus transportation and FriendShip boat service during that time.

July 2021 Disney World Refurbishments

If you arrive at the park and find that one of your favorite attractions is closed, don’t worry. Rides close on the regular for updates and quick fixes, so any unexpected closures will likely be temporary. If nothing else, it’s just another excuse to come back and experience the magic again.
