An opening date has been revealed for the upcoming Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Along with opening and booking dates, we have our first look at the inside of guest rooms at the upcoming Disney Vacation Club property.

There are tons of exciting dates to look forward to throughout 2024 for Disney fans. On June 28, we have the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, followed by the opening of Country Bears Musical Jamboree sometime this summer. And later this year, we have a brand new Disney Vacation Club property opening, with Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort making its debut.

Island Tower Opening and Booking Dates

While a December opening month had previously been announced, we now know that the Island Tower is projected to open December 17, 2024. When it opens, the proposed 10-story tower will feature a variety of room types, with each guest room featuring custom pieces inspired by Moana.

Along with a projected opening date, booking dates have been revealed! Here are the key dates to know:

  • June 4, 2024: Disney Vacation Club members can make rental reservations by contacting Member Services at (800) 800-9800. Members will be able to make points-based reservations at a later date.
  • June 5, 2024: Disney World Annual Passholders can start booking rental reservations by contacting (407) 934-7639
  • June 6, 2024: All guests can make reservations online or by contacting (407) 934-7639.

First Look Inside Resort Rooms

Along with an opening date for the Island Tower, we have our first look at the rooms inside! There will be a few room types:

  • Duo Studios (sleep up to two)
  • Deluxe Studios (sleep up to four)
  • One-Bedroom Villas (sleep up to five)
  • Two-Bedroom Villas (sleep up to nine)
  • Two-Bedroom Penthouse Villas (sleep up to eight)

As a Disney Vacation Club property, each room will have home-type amenities to make you feel comfortable during your stay. The deluxe studios will also include a first-of-its-kind feature for Disney Vacation Club deluxe studios, which is a dishwasher! These typically have been available only in 1-bedroom villas and above. And each villa will feature beautiful custom pieces inspired by Moana, along with other island-inspired amenities.

The studios will both feature kitchenettes and a seating area, while the one- and two-bedroom villas will come with a full kitchen, dining area, washer, and dryer, and outdoor patio area. And the two-bedroom penthouse villas will be a brand-new type of accommodation, offering views of Seven Seas Lagoon on an expansive patio balcony. You can see inside the available rooms in the video below!

There’s a focus on sustainable design for the Island Tower, with several features within the guest rooms contributing to Disney’s 2030 environmental goals. One example of this is in the first-ever dishwashers in the tower’s studios, which help to minimize the waste of single-use dishware. Additionally, the rugs and carpets inside the guest rooms are mostly recycled plastic bottles woven into fine yarn.
