This year’s Earth Day celebration at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a big one! The celebration encompasses most of the month of April, because the park is not just celebrating Earth Day — it’s also celebrating the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom on April 22, 2023. We’re sharing all of the special entertainment, treats, and activities you can enjoy in the park for Earth Day 2023.
Earth Day 2023 Celebration Activities at Animal Kingdom
Animation Experience at Conservation Station
Learn how to draw your favorite Lion King characters at the Animation Experience at Conservation Station. Photo by Courtney Reynolds
During the 2023 Earth Day Celebration at Animal Kingdom, guests young and old can head to Rafiki’s Planet Watch to take part in drawing lessons at the Conservation Station. During The Animation Experience, Disney animators will instruct guests on how to draw various Disney characters, all inspired by real animals. Throughout the month of April, you can draw chracters like Dumbo, Terk from Tarzan, Crush or Bruce from Finding Nemo, Tigger from Winnie the Pooh or Simba from The Lion King!
Wilderness Explorers

Little ones taking part in Wilderness Explorers, where they can complete activities like animal observation and learning wilderness skills. From April 16 to April 23, 2023, Wilderness Exploreres can experience a limited-time activitiy that will let them earn a special nature badge!
New Magic Shots

A few different Magic Shots will be available to guests throughout the month! Ask your PhotoPass photographer about a Wall-E special effect you can add to your photo, or Recycled Material Photo Ops where you can pose with fun props made from 100% recycled materials.
Special Character Experiences
From April 16 to 23, 2023, you’ll be able to spot unique characters on the Discovery River Character Cruise, as well as around the park. Tinker Bell, Baloo, and the characters from Brother Bear are just a few of the characters you may be able to spot around the parks, so keep your eyes peeled for additional experiencees!

While Disney hasn’t revealed too many details about it, they have shared that a “very special moment” willt ake place in fron of the Tree of Life on April 22, 2023, in honor of Earth Day and the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Disney has shared that a new 25th anniversary collection will be available for purchase at Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting April 21, 2023. It will be available for a limited time at Island Mercantile, Discovery Trading Company, and Mombasa Marketplace. The collection includes a variety of different apparel, accessories, and more themed to the earthy tones and characters you can find at Animal Kingdom.

There will be tons of special snacks available throughout the month! Here’s what you’ll be able to pick up at the park in celebration of Earth Day and the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Creature Comforts
Through April 30, you can try the Bee Hive Mousse Dome, which features honey mousse on top of a brownie base with sugar bees and white chocolate honeycomb.
Dawa Bar
The Rum and Pineapple Cocktail, which is made with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Blue Curaçao Liquor, sour mix, pineapple juice garnish with pineapple wedge to showcase the ocean is currently available at Dawa Bar.

Flame Tree Barbecue
At Flame Tree Barbecue you can pick up:
- Flamingo Cupcake: Strawberry cake, strawberry compote filling, guava buttercream, pink crispy pearls, sugar flamingo, and white chocolate wings (Available starting March 28)
- Bubbling Pink Lagoon: Strawberry lemonade, Sprite, and kiwi flavoring. This drink is also available with glow cube and with vodka for guests 21 and over. (Available March 28 through April 30)
Nomad Lounge
At Nomad Lounge during this month, you can order the Gin and Bitters Cocktail, made with Cruxland Gin, bitters, and soda water garnished with a lemon wheel and honey simple syrup.
Pizzafari
Through April 30 at Pizzafari, you can order:
- Elephant Cupcake: Graham cracker cake, pineapple filling with matcha buttercream, crispy pearls, and a stunning white chocolate elephant celebrating Earth Month
- Viva Gaia Tonic: Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade, Sprite, and cotton candy flavor with mint leaves (Also available with glow cube and available with vodka for guests 21 and over)
Restaurantosaurus
Through April 30, you can try the Elephant Cupcake, featuring graham cracker cake, pineapple filling with matcha buttercream, crispy pearls, and a stunning white chocolate elephant celebrating Earth Month. Mobile order is available!
Tamu Tamu
Through April 30, you can order the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail Sundae, a brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and trail crunch mix topped with a white chocolate image of Kejana.
Terra Treats
At Terra Treats you can try the Roasted Mushroom & Leek Pizza, a plant-based offering with IMPOSSIBLE Meatballs, roasted mushrooms, braised leeks, and a dash of truffle oil.

Tusker House’s buffet will have ha variety of plant-based items available during Earth Month, including:

At any of the locations, you can try the Tiger Eye Gold, a light golden ale brewed with a blend of malt and rice and finished with hops from the Pacific Northwest that impart a hint of citrus flavor and the aroma of mandarin orange blossoms.
Dawa Bar, Eight Spoon Café, Restaurantosaurus Lounge, Thirsty River Bar, TriloBites, and Warung Outpost
The Honey Bee Citrus Ale, is a light, slightly sweet, honey ale with a crisp clean finish, available through April 30.
