If you’re looking for a place to stay near ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World Resort, these are some of the closest hotels for a good night’s rest.

Planning a trip down to Walt Disney World so you can join in on the athletic action happening at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex? With events held year-round across a wide variety of different sports, there’s always something happening at ESPN Wide World of Sports! However, planning a trip to this sports complex is a bit different than planning a typical trip to Disney World.

While you might normally want a hotel that’s close to the theme parks, with easy Disney World resort access, heading to ESPN Wide World of Sports means you’ll have different needs. You’ll want to choose from the hotels near ESPN Wide World of Sports –– and theme park proximity may not matter. To help you find the perfect hotel for your upcoming tournament, competition, or stay, here’s a guide to all of the hotels located near ESPN Wide World of Sports.

How to Choose a Hotel Near ESPN Wide World of Sports

When it comes to choosing a hotel near ESPN Wide World of World of Sports, you have a lot of options. In addition to the more than 25 Disney World Resort hotels, you’ll also find many other non-Disney hotel options scattered around the complex and the larger Lake Buena Vista area. In fact, choosing a single hotel can require quite a bit of research!

To start your search for the best hotels near ESPN Wide World of Sports, you’ll want to think about the following key factors:

  • Proximity: How close would you like to be to the complex?
  • Budget: What’s your total or per-night hotel budget?
  • Schedule: Will you be spending all of your time at ESPN Wide World of Sports, or will you also be heading to Disney World’s theme parks?
  • Length of Stay: How many days and nights will you be staying?
  • Transportation: Will you be renting a car, using rideshare services, or relying on Disney World transportation?

Trips to ESPN Wide World of Sports often mean long tournament, competition, or practice days, which can leave little time to head to the theme parks or explore Disney World beyond the athletic fields and complexes. As a result, you’ll want to choose a hotel that makes it easy to travel where you need to be, suits your budget, and meets your own personal needs for each specific trip. Luckily, there are plenty of options both in Disney World hotels and non-Disney hotels nearby.

Walt Disney World Resort Hotels Near ESPN Wide World of Sports

If you’re looking to stay on-property in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel when you visit ESPN Wide World of Sports, you have some great options. You can choose from any Disney World hotel –– but the great news is that there’s actually a collection of hotels that are located right across the highway from the ESPN complex.

These Disney World hotels are the closest to ESPN Wide World of Sports:

Yep, that’s right: Disney World’s Value Resorts are actually the closest options! This means you can not only stay within a brief drive or bus trip of ESPN Wide World of Sports, but also stay conveniently nearby on a budget. This means a stay in a Disney hotel may be an affordable option for your visit.

Non-Disney Hotels Near ESPN Wide World of Sports

There are also quite a few non-Disney hotels located right near the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. If you’re looking for a great deal and don’t mind driving (or taking rideshare services) to and from the complex, you can choose from a very wide selection of hotel options.

The non-Disney hotels surrounding ESPN Wide World of Sports cover quite a big range. There are budget hotels as well as more luxurious resorts just down the highway. You can find hotels that suit families as well as ones for smaller travel groups, such as a parent and child.

Is It Better to Stay at a Disney Hotel or a Non-Disney Hotel for ESPN Wide World of Sports?

The decision to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel or a non-Disney hotel that’s in the area near ESPN Wide World of Sports really comes down to two factors: budget and personal preference.

Disney World hotels can offer a whole host of benefits, from special theming to a variety of room types and sizes to added perks like early theme park entry or extended evening hours. You’ll also be able to easily move between hotels, the theme parks, and ESPN Wide World of Sports thanks to the complimentary bus transportation available.

Additionally, there are numerous hotel options within the Disney World resorts for guests of every budget. The Value Resorts –– many of which are located right near the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex! –– offer the most budget-friendly room options. However, if budget isn’t a concern, there are plenty of Moderate and Deluxe Resorts located on-property, too.

However, Disney World hotels can be priced higher than other nearby hotels that aren’t officially part of the larger resort. You’ll want to make sure to compare hotel pricing ahead of your visit; you may find that non-Disney hotels are cheaper! Rates do vary depending on the time of the year and what events are happening both across Disney World and at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

Just keep in mind that you won’t be able to take advantage of complimentary bus transportation from ESPN Wide World of Sports to different Disney World properties. Additionally, you won’t get the same magical extras included with your hotel stay. However, if you’re planning to head to Disney World solely for events at ESPN Wide World of Sports –– and you won’t really be heading to the theme parks –– then these extras won’t matter.
