Lunar New Year and Disney’s California Adventure Food and Wine Festival are back. Here’s what to expect at the celebrations in 2023.

Disney fans were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning after hearing the good news: Disneyland will be bringing their Lunar New Year Celebration and Food & Wine Festival back to Disney’s California Adventure!

The Year of the Rabbit already looks promising. After missing out on both festivals in 2021 due to the pandemic, guests welcomed the celebrations back to the parks with open arms in 2022. Thankfully, we’re getting yet another year of back-to-back festivities. Let’s take a look at the good fortune we can expect during the new year!

From January 20th through February 15th, guests will be immersed in the beautiful cultures of the Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese to ring in the Year of the Rabbit. Disney California Adventure Park has hosted the annual celebration since 2013. Over the past decade, the festival has grown from a small five-day celebration to a multi-week explosion of color and tradition.

Guests can look forward to a multitude of unique cultural offerings during the celebration. Foodies will be elated to sink their teeth into culinary delights such as pillowy bao and savory noodles while amateur artists try their hand at calligraphy and other crafts. All across the park, Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession will feature joyful performers welcoming a year of good fortune alongside Mushu, Mickey, and Minnie on an extended route.

Park guests will have the opportunity to catch a showing of the heartwarming “Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration” which will play before “World of Color” – just don’t forget to add your wish for 2023 to the Lucky Wishes Wall before you leave the park!

Spring welcomes fresh blossoms, fresh green leaves, and long-awaited sunshine. On special years, it also welcomes Californian pinot noir and carbonara mac and cheese! From March 3rd to April 25th, Disney California Adventure guests will celebrate the beloved Food & Wine Festival in the beautiful California spring weather.

Unlike Walt Disney World, Disneyland doesn’t host its Food & Wine Festival annually. Guests patiently await the news each year to hear whether or not they’ll be embarking on a culinary adventure – and 2023 has turned out to be a winner! This year, twelve festival marketplaces offering alcoholic sips and mouth-watering bites will lead guests throughout the park on a voyage both savory and sweet.

Beyond the fork and knife, exclusive entertainment such as Jammin’ Chefs and Alice’s Unbirthday Party will be returning to Disney’s California Adventure. If you aren’t a big foodie, you should at least hit the park for the resurrection of Soarin’ Over California, which will be open until the end of the fest!
