The first signs of the new Moana-inspired attraction in EPCOT are appearing – and you don’t want to miss this first glimpse of Te Fiti!
If you’ve noticed some big changes happening in the World Nature neighborhood of EPCOT, you aren’t alone. Plenty of theme park Guests have noticed signs that the planned new attractions announced for EPCOT’s historic transformation – like the leafy green silhouette of Te Fiti from Moana starting to become visible in the World Nature neighborhood.
Excited to get a peek at what, exactly, the new Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana attraction will look like? Here’s your first look at Te Fiti!
Te Fiti Will Watch Over the Journey of Water
As Imagineers shared in a sneak peek back in 2022, the new Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana attraction will take Guests on a walking path through waterways and landscaping that together illustrate the water cycle.
In addition to the lush greens and flowing pools of water you’ll pass by, you’ll also encounter Te Fiti as she watches over and protects water through its cyclical journey – along with some help from Moana, of course!
The Te Fiti you’ll see in EPCOT was developed in a close collaboration between Walt Disney Animation Studios and its Creative Legacy team. She’s meant to be a symbol of how we should ourselves protect and nurture water. Her gorgeous green leaves and lush landscaping demonstrate the power of water within nature – and she’s a reminder to become a better steward of the natural world.
