Have you always wanted to get your little one a haircut at Disney World, but the prices at Bibbidi Bobbidi Bobbidi Boutique left you with sticker shock? Magic Kingdom has another, cheaper option called Harmony Barber Shop. Here’s what you need to know.
Nestled in a corner between the firehouse and Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A., you’ll find an inconspicuously charming striped barber pole. For years, I walked past it—assuming it was just another relic of the small midwestern town Main Street is modeled after.
I was surprised to find that, instead of a facade, the old-fashioned pole stands at the entrance of a real-life barber shop, the Harmony Barber Shop. Here, this Walt Disney World hidden gem welcomes guests of all ages to sit back, relax, and enjoy a timeless Disney World haircut experience.
The Most Magical First Haircut Experience Ever

I came across the Harmony Barber Shop when I was researching locations for my daughter’s first trim (a colleague and fellow passholder recommended it; thanks Jessica!). And I quickly found it to be the perfect option for her first haircut experience.
I purchased her the My First Haircut package—which featured her haircut, a commemorative Mickey ear hat, a lock of her hair, and an official milestone certificate for only $25.
Amazingly, this is only a few dollars more than I pay at a different local barber shop, and it’s nearly the same price as it would be to just purchase a Mickey ear hat.
The few extra dollars were well worth it. Diane, the Cast Member who cut my toddler’s hair, was fabulous. She was like a real-life fairy godmother—patient, kind, and amazingly quick for my less-than-patient princess.

My daughter walked away without any tears shed, and my family and I got to add another magical first to our list of Disney World memories.
Harmony Barber Shop Pricing for Kids and Adults
But you don’t have to be a little one to enjoy a timeless haircut right inside of Walt Disney World Resort. In addition to the My First Haircut package, Harmony Barber Shop offers children’s starting at $18 and adult’s haircut packages starting at $19. These packages feature a haircut and simple styling.
Keep in mind, though, you won’t find any shampooing booths inside this quaint location. Disney recommends you arrive with clean, dry hair. So no Splash Mountain before your appointment.
Making Reservations at Harmony Barber Shop
Although the Harmony Barber Shop is temporarily closed, when it’s open, you’ll find limited walk-in availability, so Disney recommends you make a reservation in advance.
When I took my tot, however, reservations were booked for weeks, and her hair was growing quicker than Rapunzel’s. So my family and I made sure we were at the gates of the Magic Kingdom when the park opened and headed straight for the barber shop. Luckly, that worked out and we were able to snag a walk-in seat.

Imagine that: rope-dropping for a haircut!
So, if you have the luxury of booking in advance, I’d say go for it. Otherwise, you can always hope for a little extra pixie dust and try for a walk-up like we did.
Disney World Haircuts: An Unforgettable Experience
Is it worth it to carve out part of our day for a haircut? If it’s a haircut inside the Most Magical Place on Earth, then absolutely.
I took my daughter for her first haircut a couple years ago and we still talk about how wonderful it was. You can bet that as soon as the doors behind that barber pole open again, my toddler and I will be first in line.
