Disney is the home of celebrations, from Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary to EPCOT’s 40th, there is no lack of excitement at the Disney Parks right now. The celebrations will continue in 2023 at Disneyland Resort in honor of the Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary. 

“Disney100 Years of Wonder” (Disney100) was announced at this year’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, and was described by Disney as “the largest cross-company global celebration in the history of the Walt Disney Company.”

While guests who enjoy Disney Parks around the world will get to celebrate the magic, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, will be the heart of the celebration, which is set to kick off on January 27th, 2023.

What highlights will guests get to enjoy during this limited-time centenary celebration at Disneyland? 

A party isn’t complete without the right ambiance and Disney plans to adorn the resort with platinum-infused decor, including on Walt Disney’s first castle, Sleeping Beauty. Banners, buntings, fountains, and fairies are just a taste of the decorations coming to the Disneyland Resort. 

Plus, be sure to look out for special treats, delicious new beverages, merchandise, and some swanky new sparkling outfits from everyone’s favorite, Mickey and Minnie!

Entertainment will also get a refresh at Disneyland in time for the 100th anniversary of Disney. The “Magic Happens” Parade will make its return to Disneyland Park. This parade celebrates the magic at the heart of Disney, which is a perfect addition to the celebration. 

In addition, Disneyland will introduce two all-new nighttime spectaculars featuring new, original songs. “World of Color-One” will debut at Disney’s California Adventure and celebrate Walt’s storytelling legacy while “Wondrous Journeys” will debut at Disneyland Park and feature nods to classic Walt Disney Studios Animation. Pop-up entertainment is also in the works so be on the lookout. 

The Main Attraction

One very exciting addition to Disneyland Park will be the opening of the beloved WDW attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Slated to open on January 27th, 2023, ahead of the reimagined Mickey’s Toontown, guests can enjoy stepping into a cartoon with their favorite characters and will kick off the Disney100 celebration. 

Guests aren’t the only ones who can partake in the fun! Cast Members at Disneyland Resort will be some of the first to try the new offerings with #DisneyCastLife experiences.
