What Are the Easter Eggs in Disney’s Frozen? (Quick Answer) Disney’s Frozen includes several hidden Easter eggs, including Mickey Mouse hidden in scenes, Rapunzel attending Elsa’s coronation, candies inspired by Wreck-It Ralph, a famous rococo painting reference, and visual foreshadowing of the movie’s ending. The film is also referenced in later Disney movies like Moana, Zootopia, Big Hero 6, and Ralph Breaks the Internet. |
Watch for These Frozen Easter Eggs
Disney Imagineers and animators hid subtle references throughout Frozen, many of which appear during musical numbers or quick background moments.
Mickey Mouse on the Shelf
Mickey Mouse appears twice in Frozen, and both moments are easy to miss if you blink. The first Mickey can be spotted during “Do You Want to Build a Snowman,” sitting on the top left corner of a bookshelf inside the castle.

Later in the film, when Anna visits Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna, another Mickey is hidden on the bottom left shelf behind several stacked boxes.

Did You Know? Mickey Mouse has appeared as a hidden Easter egg in dozens of Disney animated films, often tucked into background shelves, clouds, or crowd scenes — a tradition dating back decades. |
These quick cameos are classic Disney Easter eggs, continuing the tradition of sneaking Mickey into animated films.
Rapunzel Attending the Coronation
One of the most famous Easter eggs in Frozen takes place during the coronation scene at the very beginning. Fans immediately spotted a familiar princess attending the event. That’s right, you can spot Rapunzel from Tangled with her short brown hair walking into the castle!

Did You Know? Rapunzel’s appearance at Elsa’s coronation helped fuel long-running fan theories that Frozen and Tangled take place in the same Disney universe. |
Wreck-It-Ralph Candies
During the song “First Time in Forever,” as Anna grabs a few sweets, you may find they look familiar! That’s because they’re themed after the Sugar Rush candies featured in the video game Wreck-It Ralph.

The Swing
Another Easter egg you can spot during“For the First Time in Forever” is when Anna jumps into the famous rococo painting “The Swing” by Jean-Honoré Fragonard.

The Rococo art movement was very influential in early Disney movies like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast, so having this painting featured in Frozen is a nod to the history of Walt Disney Animation.
Foreshadowing the Ending
The very beginning of the movie foreshadows how it will end in a big way. When Elsa and her parents visit the Trolls, they tell her about her powers through various visions of what’s to come. In one of those visions, you’ll actually see her restoring summer to Arrendelle in a scene that mirrors the ending of the movie.
