Take a look inside Space 220 for the first time as we bring you along to today’s media event.
As of today, Space 220 is open!
This morning, WDW Magazine Communications Director, Tatjana Lazar was present for the festivities. After a few words from the Patina Group, Minnie and Mickey Mouse came out to help with the grand opening.
We half expected them to come out in those stellar astronaut costumes from the ’80s, but alas. Mickey always looks sharp in a tux, though.
The Lobby
Once Tatjana was unleashed into the restaurant, she showed us what the lobby and elevator rooms look like:

The Space 220 Elevator

At the desk, Tatjana reserved her ticket on the elevator… and guests actually received a ticket! This could have been just for the grand opening keepsake, but we’re hoping the tickets stick around for a while.
Guests ready to board were sent down a hallway to the circular elevator room to await departure. “Roger Centauri. Standing by.” Mission Control chatter could be heard overhead as they prepared for blastoff.

“In just a few moments, you’ll be on your way up to Space 220 aboard the Centauri Space Station.” After guests were informed that the departure speed would be oh, just only 1,000 miles-per-hour, they were cleared for takeoff!
The floor vibrated with the power of the engines and all guests watched through the porthole in the center of the floor as the launch bay, EPCOT, and then the earth got smaller and smaller.

She made it! Tatjana viewed a space veggie growing rig that would even make Living With the Land a bit jealous, then headed down a hallway into the dining room. If you listen closely, you can hear the overhead intercom mention Docking Bay 7.

The dining room is a spacious ring that showcases Earth in all her glory. There are freestanding tables and booths situated right against the window.

Tatjana saw spacecraft, comets, and astronauts float by the window.
Space 220 Food and Drinks
Tatjana sampled the Baked Macaroni, Flat Iron Steak, Blue Moon Cauliflower, and the Tuna Tartare.

The macaroni is a winner, with Tatjana raving, “I took one bite of that baked macaroni and I was like, what? It was so good.

Tatjana reported in her stories on Instagram, “This steak was like butter. So tender.”

And you know she had to sample the drinks, too! Tatjana tried the Big Tang and the Stargarita.

Over all, Space 220 well, put Tatjana’s wig into orbit. Along with the rest of her. She is excited to return for another sampling of the food, and we can’t wait to hear what you think of this restaurant!
Here’s everything we know about Space 220 reservations, but you’d better secure your spot soon because this restaurant is sure to be a hit.
