Disney has shared residential plans for the upcoming Cotino, a planned Storyliving by Disney community.
Storyliving by Disney was first announced in early 2022 as a plan to develop communities that utilize Disney Imagineering. One of the planned communities is a development for the Cotino community, located in California’s Coachella Valley. Now, Disney has shared a first look at concept art for the dog park from the upcoming community.
Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney Community Concept Art
Once complete, the Cotino community will feature a range of home types and lot sizes for guests to enjoy. Home designs will be inspired by “the rich history, landscape, and beauty of the greater Palm Springs area,” under the watchful development of Walt Disney Imagineering.
“We’re thoughtfully and intentionally bringing elements to the community to encourage camaraderie among neighbors while also using our renowned Disney placemaking to weave the essence and beauty of the Coachella Valley into the fabric of the community,” said Claire Bilby, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Signature Experiences Emerging Businesses. “Alongside the developer and builders, we’re creating a special place where residents will have a distinctive lifestyle that can only be found in the Cotino community.”
In their new concept art, you can see Laughing Place Ranch, which was designed to celebrate Walt’s love for horses. The equestrian-themed dog park will feature separate play areas for small and large pets to enjoy.
New Home Collections
When it opens, the community will offer three different single-family home collections. The Cottage Collection will be built on home sites approximately 50 feet wide, the Grand Collection on home sites approximately 60 and 70 feet wide, and the Estate Collection on home sites approximately 90, 120, and 135 feet wide. All of these homes will be detached, single-family dwellings.

For homebuyers aged 55+, there will be a dedicated area known as Longtable Park. The name is inspired by Walt Disney and the experiences that originally drew him to the area. When Walt visited Coachella Valley, he often enjoyed desert activities in the morning before joining his neighbors for a group breakfast around a friendly table.
Pre-sales appointments to discuss additional details are anticipated to begin later this year, prior to the launch of home sales. You can read more about the Storyliving by Disney communities here.
