What is the Disney100 Celebration?
The Disney100 Celebration is a yearlong commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. In October 2023, it’ll mark 100 years since the company was founded by Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney back in 1923. So, Disney is celebrating the journey and storytelling of the Walt Disney Company’s creative visionaries throughout the past 10 decades – along with Disney fans and families who’ve created memories along the way.
As part of the yearlong celebration, Disney will introduce new experiences and bring beloved characters to Guests around the world. Exciting events are scheduled to take place at Disneyland Resort, the heart of the celebration, but there will also be opportunities to mark the milestone and join in the fun at Walt Disney World, international theme parks, and even aboard Disney Cruise Line ships.
When Does the Disney100 Celebration Begin?
The official kickoff for the grand event is January 27, 2023.
However, the actual official 100-year anniversary of the Walt Disney Company is on October 16, 2023. It’s highly likely that Disney will have something special planned just for this momentous date – check back here for more!

Will Disney100 Take Place Only at Disneyland?
Many of the planned festivities will take place at Disney theme parks – and Disneyland Resort is the central location for many of the big Disney100 happenings! However, it won’t be the only place for Guests and Disney fans to join in the fun.
Disney100 events, entertainment, and more are planned for Disneyland, Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line, and other destinations worldwide. This brand-new attraction opens January 27, 2023 inside Mickey’s Toontown. While Toontown itself is still undergoing a huge transformation (more on the future opening to come!), you can step inside a colorful cartoon world with Mickey, Minnie, and a whole host of classic Disney characters past and present inside this brand-new attraction. Explore History with The Disney Gallery Presents: Disney 100 Years of Wonder

If you’ve ever wondered how some of Disney’s most famous film moments became standout attractions brought to life in theme parks around the world, you won’t want to miss this. At Disneyland, you can wander through The Disney Gallery inside the Main Street Opera House and see the new Disney 100 Years of Wonder exhibit.
Featuring history from Disney Animation Studios as well as Disneyland Resort, you’ll be able to see how animators and Imagineers worked together to bring to life some of the attractions, lands, and characters you know and love with a walk through the past, present, and future. Across the esplanade, there’s another new nighttime spectacular to catch! To celebrate the Disney100 anniversary, a new show called Wondrous Journeys will honor 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios, illuminating spots throughout Disneyland Park with the sights and sounds of Disney films.
