Welcome aboard! We’ve got your complete guide to dining at 1923 on the Disney Wish. Let’s dig in!
The Disney Wish hasn’t even taken its maiden voyage yet, but we are already drooling with anticipation over the totally unique and reimagined main dining rooms on board. Disney Cruise Line operates a signature “rotational dining” experience, where guests travel to a different restaurant each night of their cruise, while serving staff travels with them for a seamless and magical experience. Of course, it’s Disney so that not only means unique menus and décor but new, immersive stories with each meal.
During a media event celebrating Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, we had the chance to talk with Kelly, Manager of Dining Standards for Disney Cruise Line, who was kind enough to give us a sneak peek of the experience dining at 1923 on the Disney Wish.
Hope you’re hungry!
The Atmosphere of 1923
Just arriving to your table means the story has begun at 1923, where a gorgeous plate emblazoned with 1923 awaits diners (that’s the year the Walt Disney Company was founded, by the way!).
You’re in for a walk down memory lane in this casual but refined restaurant that pays homage to Walt Disney and the golden era of animation. Sketches hang on the walls depicting classic characters, and over 100 different props will be on display, taking you through the entire timeline of Walt Disney animation history.
What’s really unique here is that the restaurant itself is split into two dining areas, making your meal feel a little more quiet and intimate. The rooms are named after Walt and Roy (his brother).
The tables will be set with a white table cloth, cream napkins, and gold-accented plates and salt and pepper shakers. A golden breadbasket and table market, sturdy silverware, and delicate glassware definitely give off those old Hollywood feels. The whole look is subdued yet glamorous.
Diners who enjoy Carthay Circle Restaurant or Lamplight Lounge at Disney’s California Adventure and The Brown Derby or Steakhouse 71 at Walt Disney World will be fans of the vibe here.
The Cast Members at 1923
Cast Members will be decked out in clean, modern outfits that strike the balance between timeless and trendy. I love the monotone look, the patterns, and the crisp edges to the tailoring on these costumes!

The Food at 1923
Sticking with the California theme, guests can expect California cuisine (a food movement near and dear to my own heart, with chef-driven dishes featuring plenty of fresh veggies and fruits, seafood, lean meats, and lots of flavor).
There’ll be something for everyone in the family to enjoy, and the fun of spotting characters and details like the hidden Mickey above will keep guests entertained while dining at 1923 aboard the Disney Wish; the experience is a little calmer than the other two main dining rooms, Worlds of Marvel and Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure.
Disney Wish Main Dining Rooms
There are three main dining rooms on the Disney Wish. Guests will rotate through all three:
