Your comprehensive guide to all of the ESPN facilities that you can find as part of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.

Thank you to Disney for inviting us to the Disney Youth Sports & Great Outdoors Media Event, where we were able to experience amenities and recreation activities around Walt Disney World Resort, including a tour of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex with hosted meals.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex was built in 1997, though it has gotten new additions, such as the AdventHealth Arena, in 2018. Each year, the complex hosts dozens of sports and entertainment events. In fact, since its opening, ESPN Wide World of Sports has hosted more than 70 sports featuring athletes from over 70 countries! The complex is home to Disney Soccer and Disney Spring Training, with facilities designed to host professional, amateur, and youth athletes.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Facilities

The 220-acre facility has multiple competition venues, including 16 baseball/softball fields, a 9,500-seat stadium, and an indoor arena. Plus, two field houses for baseball, volleyball, and other indoor sports, 17 multi-purpose outdoor fields, and a track and field facility exist. In the complex, you’ll also find a professional production center that produces content for the Disney family of networks. The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex also has multiple dining and retail locations and a 5,000-space parking lot to accommodate visitors.

AdventHealth Arena

The AdventHealth Arena opened in January 2018, specifically designed in partnership with Varsity Spirit for cheerleading and dance competitions. The venue is designed to be used for one large competition space or set up for as many as four competition areas.

AdventHealth Arena can seat over 8,000 guests and can also be converted to host six regulation basketball courts, six regulation volleyball courts, or concert configurations. The building also has concessions, with a box office and its own entry to the complex.

The Stadium

At the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, you’ll also find a retro-style Major League Baseball ballpark that hosts tournaments throughout the year. The infrastructure can hold up to 11,500 guests, including 9,500 permanent upper and lower deck seats and a grass berm that can offer seating for an additional 2,000 guests. That’s because the facility can not only host baseball, but also concerts, corporate functions, event opening ceremonies, and other large gatherings.

The Stadium is also home to four luxury suites, two upper-level outdoor suites, and two mezzanine-level outdoor terraces. Plus, there’s a Disney booth equipped with production equipment to help manage in-stadium entertainment. This includes a massive jumbo screen that can display ESPN programming, customized videos, and interviews from the sports complex.

State Farm Field House

The State Farm Field House offers a 70,000-square-foot multi-sport indoor arena designed with inspiration from a 1950s-style fieldhouse. The multi-purpose facility has a capacity of 5,000 seats and can accommodate just about any indoor sport that doesn’t require ice. That can include basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, martial arts, cheerleading, dance, and concerts and conventions.

The fieldhouse is home to six full-size collegiate basketball courts, with four on the main level and two upstairs on the auxiliary court.

Athletic Center

The Athletics Center is a multi-sport venue that has 1,200 seats and can be equipped for a variety of events. The space can hold both performance events and sports tournaments, including basketball tournaments and cheerleading competitions. The Athletic Center has space for six college-size basketball courts, or twelve regulation-size volleyball courts. Inside you’ll also find four locker rooms, two conference rooms, and two officials’ rooms.

Marathon Sports Fields

Marathon Sports Fields have seveteen fields that can be fitted for football, soccer, baseball, softball, and more. There are seven grass playing surfaces and four fields, which can be split up or collectively used for one large event. Permanent bleacher seating is available for each field, with a max capacity of 10,000 that can be accommodated for larger events.

Baseball Quadraplex/Softball Complex

The Baseball Quadraplex includes four professional baseball fields and a half field that can be used for drills. This is the spot that hosts MLB players annually for spring training, as well as minor league players during Rookie League.

The Softball Complex includes six fields, with fences set at 305 feet. This can accommodate fastpitch softball, slowpitch softball, and youth baseball events for twelve years and under.

Track & Field Complex

The Track and Field Complex is a fantastic training facility that hosts national events such as the AAU Club Championships. The complex includes state-of-the-art surfaces and equipment, with 400-meter polyurethane that is consistent with Olympic T&F venues.
