On Sale Now- The Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction Special from WDW Magazine!

Searching Walt Disney World for the most unforgettable Instagram pics? This week, we’re bringing you a collection of our favorite EPCOT photo spots. Say cheese!

EPCOT is not only the food lovers’ park; it’s also a photo paradise. It’s got graphic walls, miles of Magic Shots, and four worlds’ worth of click-worthy spots.

This park likes to do things in fours—four Worlds (Discovery, Celebration, Nature, and Showcase) and four festivals (Arts, Flower & Garden, Food & Wine, and Holidays)—so we’re bringing you 14 spots to “say fromage” on your photo journey. (That’s kind of like four, right?)

14 Best EPCOT Photo Spots

Grab a friend, a Festival Passport, and some comfy shoes for our favorite photo spots at EPCOT.

1. All the EPCOT Walls

Are you satisfied with your Big Hero 6 photo? Photo by Trisha Daab

Magic Kingdom has the Purple Wall, but EPCOT has multiple worlds of Insta-famous walls

The bright pinks, mint, and red of the Bubble Gum Wall are found on either side of Spaceship Earth.

Quick wardrobe change before your debut in front of the Blueberry Wall, which is just a few steps down from the Bubble Gum wall near Spaceship Earth.

Head toward World Discovery for your next photo opp in front of the construction walls. There are still many of these at EPCOT these days all around Spaceship Earth, so you won’t have to go far.

You can find six intrepid friends led by Fred, a Big Hero 6 themed-photo, near the home of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Act quick to get this pic! The ride is set to open in the summer of 2022.

While you’re here, pop over to Mission Space for the Rose Gold Wall and then near the Test Track bathrooms for a wall in hues of red and pink.

Just keep swimming over to the Toothpaste Wall located in World Nature near the exit of The Seas with Nemo and Friends

Make sure to visit all of these places during the day to capture all the colors. And bring a friend. Most of these spaces are not-so selfie-friendly.

Have a Disney Visa? Get a whole photo shoot of walls at the Disney Visa Cardmember Photo Spot near the Figment ride in World Nature.

2. EPCOT Festivals of Photos

Every few months, EPCOT gets a little makeover for its festivals. Each festival has click-worthy food, drinks, merchandise, celebs, and displays.

Flower & Garden has elaborate topiaries of your favorite characters, Festival of the Holidays has stunning decorations; Food & Wine has all your foodie photos; but it’s Festival of the Arts that is my favorite.

There is hidden character art in almost every World Showcase Pavilion, character portraits, Artful Photo Ops, and classes with animators. The most amazing is the Chalk Full of Character Art that puts you inside famous scenes from Disney films.

Definitely visit most of these spaces during the day and be ready to become besties with PhotoPass Photographers.

3. Sharks Are Friends!

Before you exit the Seas for your Toothpaste Wall photo, flip your fins over to Bruce’s Shark World in The Seas with Nemo & Friends.

Bruce is not a mindless eating machine, but if you bring a fish friend that can use a camera, you can get a shot of you inside Bruce’s mouth.

It’s not taking on the jellies, but Crush would find this pic righteous.

4. Touch the Moon

Travel from the depths of the ocean to space. Just outside of the Mission: SPACE ride, there is a giant model of the moon with points of every moon landing on it.

This is an out-of-this-world photo place for your space fan. One of my favorite EPCOT photo spots on this list.

You can walk all the way around the moon and see the plaques of each landing. This is the area where you’ll find the Rose Gold Wall. Not as famous as Blueberry or Bubble Gum, but beautiful, especially during the golden hour.

5. A Wall So Famous, It Has Its Own Instagram

Do your World Showcase travels start in Mexico or Canada

I always find myself heading left to Mexico. And there you’ll find a wall so famous it has its own Instagram accountThis wall is at the top of the stairs leading up to a pyramid that is modeled after an Aztec Temple.

This is at the heart of the Mexico Pavilion, which is the location of our next EPCOT Instagram spot.

6. Sombreros by the Fountain

Inside the pyramid under a dark blue sky are restaurants, a boat ride, shops, and a fountain, giving you the feel that you’ve walked into a village in Mexico.

Plaza de los Amigos is the “open-air” marketplace and home to the giant sombreros.

A pic in these sombreros in front of the fountain is one of our family traditions; we have been snapping this classic EPCOT photo on trips since 2005, long before Instagram became the place to post Disney World photos.

Choose from a variety of sombrero styles, from the colorful to the subtle that kids of all ages will find muy bueno

Tip: Try and have a specific photo spot you visit on every trip to Disney. It’s a magical way to see how your family has grown.

7. A Giant Troll

This troll is not related to Kristoff and won’t cleverly rhyme “feet” and “sweet” when singing about how we are all a bit of a fixer-upper.

He is known as the Forgetful Troll and is found in The Fjording Shop in the Norway Pavilion.

There is even a legend behind his name that you can find on his Instagram:

Now you may think: trolls and Norway … Frozen! But this troll was in the shop well before Elsa let it go. The Fjording Shop has been around since the opening of the Norway Pavilion in 1998

Visit in the morning and you may even be able to be the one to name the troll that day.

8. Get Up Close to Shanghai Disneyland

Well, sort of. For now, the exhibit at the China Pavilion is probably the closest most of us Disney World-goers will be able to get to the Shanghai Disney Resort.

Find displays to discover the wonder of the Shanghai Disney Resort in the House of the Whispering Willows in the China Pavilion. This is a great place for some worldly EPCOT Instagram photos.

You can visit this spot day or night; it’s open during park hours. The exhibit does change, but the Shanghai Disney Resort display has been here for a few years.

You can read and see charming displays about different attractions at the resort.

My favorite is all of the details on the one-of-a-kind Enchanted Storybook Castle, which tells the story of all Disney Princesses. Tap here to learn about Disney Castles around the world.

If you want a pic with the Shanghai Disneyland Enchanted Storybook Castle without the 22-hour flight, this is the place to visit.

9. Making a Wish in Italy

If you make a wish while tossing a coin over your shoulder at the replica of the Trevi Fountain in the Italy Pavilion, are you guaranteed a return visit to Disney World?

You’ll have to go far into the Italy Pavilion to find this bella fontana. While there, maybe pop into the hidden gem Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar for some prosciutto and Prosecco!

Hopefully, you brought your amore because selfies while tossing things is not usually the safest combo. Visit during the day or on a bella notte!

10. A Welcoming Gate

A quick search on my phone revealed I’ve taken over 20 photos of the torii gate in the Japan Pavilion on four different trips to Disney World.

Twenty photos and not a human in any of them.

You can get a photo of you in front of the torii gate with the help of a friend or PhotoPass photographer. But day or night, the real star of the photo is the way the gate frames Spaceship Earth. This makes it one of the top EPCOT photo spots on the list.

11. “Say Fromage!”

The France Pavilion is sprinkled with très chic spots for photos.

Grab a foodie friend and head back in the Ratatouille area to pose with Colette’s motorbike and Chef Skinner’s scooter.

Un, deux, trois, click in front of the Metro-inspired archway leading toward the Ratatouille area.

One très populaire spot is the fountain just outside Chefs de France.

At night, the fountain sparkles as lights dance in the water.

During the day, it’s selfies with the perfect Parisian prop—champagne!

The hidden Mickey-shaped cloud was a magical surprise I discovered when checking my phone after the timed selfie. Trust me, my PhotoShop skills are not that good!

12. UK’s Next Top Model

Just like you will still see in cities and villages across the United Kingdom, the UK Pavilion has bright red telephone boxes.  It’s the perfect place to channel your inner supermodel and be fierce.

Or just be a total goofball and have a family portrait to remember! You can fit quite a few humans in these boxes, and posing in a phone box is way more fun with friends.

Telephone boxes are portable, and we know Disney likes to change things. They have been located between the UK and Canada for a bit now.

Pop into one of the UK shops and have a chat with a lovely Cast Member if you can’t find them.

13. A Spaceship Earth in Your Hands

Now that you’ve clicked and posed your way around the world, head back toward Italy.

Just kidding … well, kind of. One of the fun EPCOT photos you can grab is a play on perspective so it looks like you’re holding up Spaceship Earth.

This can be done at multiple locations to varying results– Our favorite spot for success is between the Italy and American Adventure Pavilions.

To get the shot, you’ll need patience, daylight, and a photographer who knows the vision and will make sure your placement is just right.

14. The Most Magical Beacon on Earth

All four Disney World weenies (Walt’s playful name for the park icons) got a makeover for the 50th anniversary.

Each icon has become a Beacon of Magic, and Spaceship Earth gets my vote for the best one. It’s a permanent transformation that is spectacular in photos and enthralling in person.

Honestly, you can’t take your eyes off of it. It continues to change as you look at it from different angles. I almost fell off a curb walking backward through the parking lot because it’s mesmerizing.

We are geeking out over the Imagineering magic that brought these beacons to life. (Learn more Imagineering secrets in our upcoming June 2022 Imagineering issue of WDW Magazine.)

Thankfully, the iPhone 12 and above has that fancy nighttime selfie feature. But, it’s really best to have your favorite Disney fan to help you capture how breathtaking the Spaceship Earth Beacon of Light really is.

EPCOT Photo Spots: What You’ll Need for the Perfect Day of Instagram Pics at EPCOT

Besides a really comfortable pair of shoes, you’ll also want to make sure to bring:

  1. EPCOT Festival Passport. Grab one on the way in the park or at some resorts. You will need sustenance and hydration to make it through this journey. This will also tell you where to find any special festival photo ops, and the passport makes a festive prop.
  2. A friend. Seriously, many of these shots are not so selfie-friendly.
  3. Memory Maker. No one can capture the photos like a PhotoPass Photographer! And they have all the Magic Shots, secret spots, and access to all those Festival photo ops. But not all of our best photo spots have a PhotoPass Photographer, so don’t forget that friend.

We’ve been snapping our way across Walt Disney World and have the best photo spots at Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs—and we even shared where you can get all the best vintage Mr. Toad pics.

Not sure if you’re going? You can just get more information about a potential Disney vacation.
