When Walt Disney first started talking publicly about the “Florida Project” he spent most of his time talking about the centerpiece of the whole thing. He called it the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow or EPCOT (all caps in those days). Epcot has changed from Walt’s original vision but now it’s the WORLD’S second most visited theme park. That’s pretty incredible.
This month we celebrate Epcot from Walt’s first musings through today.
Epcot – Walt’s Vision Interpreted is our first feature article where we look at how today’s Epcot came about. Then we look at eating around Epcot, how Epcot makes learning fun and speaking of fun, we have a Character Cheat Sheet for Epcot that shows were you can find your favorite character.
Epcot is always changing and so are we. We are changing the name of our Helping Hands section to WDW 101. WDW 101 will have basic information for those who need some help. This month, in our First Timer’s Corner we talk about the best use of FastPass+. Then we look at which resorts are best for those with mobility issues and we finish up with a look at 3 Common Sense Tips for Epcot.
The Best of WDW
The Best of WDW looks at Enchanted Tales with Belle as our attraction of the month. We offer up the 10 things we love most about the Contemporary Resort. Then we head back over to Epcot for a look at Monsieur Paul restaurant and then we go to Disney Springs for a look at the all new Alex and Ani gift shop. Interesting.
Wally D gets an expanded role this month with some practice tips for dealing with a day at Walt Disney World. Gus teaches the Park kids about conservation and of course we have our downloadable puzzles, coloring pages and more.
What do you like in Epcot? We asked you what’s your favorite area, event, thing to do and attraction in Epcot. The answers are interesting. Lots of people like to eat. Me too. Speaking of eating the recipe of the month is Les Halles’ mousse au chocolat. Now that’s just yummy. Vinylmation Corner looks at Lost Attractions at Epcot Vinlymations and in Tsum Tsum Corner we take a peak into 2017.
Around the World
Is Celebration Florida what Walt envisioned for Epcot? That’s our first article in Around the World. Our Did You Know looks at fun facts about the World Showcase and we finish the issue with a brand new article called Disney Around the World where we look at the other Disney properties. How fun.
I hope you enjoy this month’s look at Epcot of yesterday and today.
