There’s a lot to keep track of at WDW, whether you’re going this week or planning a future trip – we have everything you need to know – keep reading!

New at Walt Disney World This Week

Beginning September 17th, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will offer Early Morning Magic. This extra ticketed event, which is popular at Magic Kingdom, will give guests early access to Toy Story Land. Not only will it include the three main attractions, Woody, Jessie, and Buzz will be there to meet. Like the Magic Kingdom counterpart, Early Morning Magic also includes yogurt, fruit, pastries, cereal, and the choice of avocado toast or fried chicken and cronut. This special ticketed event is $79 for ages 10 and up and $69 for ages 3-9 and doesn’t include tax. Plus, you need valid theme park admission. Early Morning Magic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is offered on select Monday and Wednesday mornings from 7:30 a.m. until 8:45 a.m.

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival kicks off on August 30th. The best way to enjoy this fan-favorite time of year, is to be prepared. Your biggest point of preparedness is to simply know what the offerings are. Enjoy food from Thailand and Greece near the Mexico pavilion. Go “down under” with Australia and New Zealand inspired offerings near Refreshment Port. A taste of Hawai’i and Islands of the Caribbean are located in Showcase Plaza. Delight your palate with the flavor of India and Africa between the China and Germany pavilions. Spain is represented between the Germany and Italy pavilions. Indulge in Belgium and Brazil deliciousness between the France and Morocco pavilions. Feeling thirsty? Head to the Festival Center for Craft Drafts or between the China and Germany pavilions for the Brewer’s Collection. There’s even cheese, specialty beverages, desserts, and a variety of food that can’t be categorized! There’s so much more to experience that you will literally have to see it for yourself!

It’s never too early to talk about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, especially since tickets are on sale. If you are still thinking about getting tickets, here’s what you need to know. The party starts November 8 and runs November 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 25, 27 and 29; and December 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, and 21. The party starts at 7 p.m. and runs through midnight, but you can enter the park at 4 p.m. if you want. There are so many things to do during the party including meeting rare characters such as Scrooge McDuck and Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws. You can also enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies at various locations throughout the park. You won’t want to miss “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade” since this is the only nighttime parade being offered at Walt Disney World. Also, don’t miss Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration for a lot of fun with all of your favorite characters. A Frozen Holiday Wish sets the entire castle aglow in beautiful icicles. Finally, end the evening with “Holiday Wishes Fireworks – Celebrate the Spirit of the Season” to really get in the spirit of holiday magic. Ticket prices depend on the day you plan to attend and start at $95 for ages 10 and up and $90 for ages 3-9.

Did you know that you could make your fall visit to Walt Disney World even more magical? Disney World Floral and Gifts deliver special surprises to someone you love. For example, they have a My First Visit- Halloween package that includes a pair of mouse ears, autograph book, Mickey plush and a spooktacular blanket. You can even design your own package to make for a really special experience. You can have your surprise delivered to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room or even a restaurant on property.

As if the MagicBand wasn’t magical enough, you can now unlock your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room with your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. This is a great option if you still have your phone in your pocket, but accidentally leave your MagicBand in your room. While this doesn’t replace the entire use of MagicBand, it gives you another option when you need to get into your room, the fitness room, or other community areas at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel.

While Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday is a few months away (November 18th to be exact), party preparations are underway! At Walt Disney World Resort, celebrations will take place from November 16th through 18th with special food, beverages, and of course, merchandise. There will be celebrations throughout Magic Kingdom on Main Street U.S.A. and in Tomorrowland. If you can’t be there in person, make sure you celebrate the special day at home!

WDW Closings and Refurbishments this Month

  • Liberty Square Riverboat is undergoing refurbishment until an undisclosed time.
  • Kringla Bakeri og Kafe in the Norway Pavilion is closed for refurbishment. A temporary kiosk has been set up nearby.
  • Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise will be closed through October 20, 2018.
  • World of Disney in Disney Springs is being reimaged. Parts will be closed in phases, but most will remain open during construction.
  • Disney’s All-Star Movies will be under a room refurbishment until sometime in 2019.
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be undergoing refurbishments until sometime in the fall 2018. The renovations have closed Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Cabana Pool Bar, and Calypso Trading Post. Other food options are available during this time.
  • Disney’s Old Key West is in the middle of room refurbishments until Spring 2019.
  • The Pepper Market at Disney’s Coronado Springs will be closed for refurbishment through summer of 2019. The Quick-Service restaurant will remain open.
  • A small portion of Stormalong Bay Pool at Disney’s Beach Club will be closed from mid-August until the fall to make room for new cabanas. The rest of the pool area will remain open during this time.
  • Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is currently under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with an expected opening in late fall 2019.

Don’t forget, closures are subject to change without notice. If you have your heart set on an attraction, be sure to check before you go. Also, check the parks for changes the day of your arrival.
