Did you know that you can find special DVC board games—classic games like Clue and Monopoly with a unique Disney Vacation Club twist? If you love Disney games, you’ve got to check these out.
Some Disney Vacation Club (DVC) membership perks are well-known—like the 20% Disney merchandise discount and access to special member-only events. Others, however, are a little less obvious.
Take DVC special edition board games for example.
For years, DVC has been transforming classic board games into games created special for DVC members. To date, titles have included Scrabble, Monopoly, Jenga, and many more.

Beautiful and Clever Custom DVC Board Games

The DVC version of the Game of Life is my favorite Disney board game to play. Photo by Dani Moritz
In my personal collection, I own three of these custom creations: DVC Monopoly, Clue, and—my personal favorite—the Game of Life. (The Game of Life is a special 25th edition released for the DVC’s 25th anniversary celebration. The celebration and game are especially near and dear to my heart because I got to work on the celebration behind the scenes as a Cast Member. Coolest job ever.)

Each of the games feature beautiful DVC artwork and cleverly designed DVC overlays and special features.
For example, in The Game of Life, players are engaging in a contest to plan the best 25th anniversary celebration by collecting party points. In Monopoly, they’ve swapped out houses and hotels for DVC deluxe studios and grand villas (much more exciting if you ask me).

As an unashamed Disneyphile, my favorite part of these games is the artwork—especially the resort artwork featured in Clue—and the cleverly written DVC and general Disney tie-ins.
Limited Access to Special Edition Disney Games
Traditionally, these games have exclusively been available to DVC members through special events like Member Cruise voyages. Or, in my case as a former Cast Member, through friends who are still kind enough to share a little pixie dust.

You can also find them at DVC Community Halls where they’re available for rent if you’re a DVC member. This is how I was able to play the DVC edition of Scrabble, one of my family’s long-time favorite games.
Helpful hint: These are great Disney activities to do on a rainy day.
Or, if you want to shell out some real money, you can buy many of them on third-party retail sites like eBay or Poshmark. (Unfortunately, I don’t think sellers usually accept Monopoly money as payment, and the price tags can be rather high for these special edition games.)

An New DVC Board Game—Operation—Now Available for Purchase
While these games haven’t traditionally been available for purchase through Disney, the newest addition to the DVC board game collection is!
DVC members can now buy a custom DVC 30th anniversary edition of the classic board game Operation.

In this twist on the Operation board game, players attempt to carefully remove icons from DVC resorts, like a Racehorse (shout out to my home resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa!) or a Tiki Idol. But players must be careful to avoid getting “buzzed” in the process. The game also includes special cards and gameplay currency.
To purchase the game, DVC members can log in to shopDisney.com with the Disney account tied to their DVC membership. The current retail price is $19.99.
