For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will reopen to the public on Jan. 2, 2022.
While most other Disney attractions have reopened as access to masks and vaccinations increased, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park has remained closed to the public since the initial pandemic shutdown. Now, the water park will reopen on Jan. 22 to let guests once again enjoy the wonderfully wet attractions and delicious menu items.
Let’s get excited about everything we can do after the Typhoon Lagoon water park reopening!
AvailableTyphoon Lagoon Attractions
Your favorite Typhoon Lagoon attractions are back, providing fun for the whole family! Here’s a round-up of some of the park’s most popular attractions.
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool
Catch some waves at America’s largest outdoor wave pool! Unlike the ocean, the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool guarantees the perfect wave every time, so you can maximize your surf time.
Miss Adventure Falls
Kids and adults of all ages will enjoy a ride on Miss Adventure Falls, which puts you on an inflatable four-person raft for a wild and wet adventure! While you enjoy the white water thrills, see if you can spot some treasure scattered around by Captain Mary Oceaneer.
Crush ‘n’ Gusher
For older kids and adults taller than 48 inches, Crush ‘n’ Gusher is a must. This raft ride is similar to a thrilling coaster but with water chutes instead of a track. The ride is designed as an abandoned fruit-processing plant and features a 400-foot-long tube slide. You can choose from three different “fruit chutes”: Pineapple Plunger, Coconut Crusher, and Banana Blaster.
Castaway Creek is a scenic lazy river that surrounds Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. Along the way, you’ll see waterfalls, grottos, rope bridges, and rainforest landscapes as you float around the park in an inner tube.
Do you find water slides boring? You certainly won’t be bored when you ride Humunga Kowabunga! On this ride, you’ll shoot down Mount Mayday at a 60-degree angle for 214 feet in the dark.
Whether you’re a wannabe or an avid surfer, you can schedule some time to perfect your wave riding at Typhoon Lagoon. You can either sign up for a group session or a private lesson in the wave pool.
Typhoon Lagoon Food
As well as fun attractions, you can enjoy some tasty treats at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon reopening. Here are a few to get excited about.
