Forget about showing up early and waiting for a table, because this in-demand restaurant is about to start accepting advance dining reservations.
Get ready to make plans: One of Disneyland’s most popular restaurants is opening up reservations for the very first time. Starting June 26, 2025 you’ll be able to make reservations for Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining – and trust me, I’ll be making mine!
What is Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining?
Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining is an outdoor table service restaurant that sits on the Pixar Pier boardwalk at California Adventure. It’s attached to the larger Lamplight Lounge restaurant, but it operates separately.
The boardwalk bar is a bit more casual than Lamplight Lounge, as it’s meant to be a relaxed bar. It originally opened as Cove Bar along with California Adventure in 2001, and it became an under-the-radar restaurant in the early 2010s. Cove Bar became increasingly popular thanks to its menu of delicious drinks (including a secret menu that featured concoctions like the rainbow-layered Fun Wheel) and its heaping plates of Lobster Nachos.
Cove Bar, in its heyday, was both popular and a hidden gem. It saw incredibly long lines and guest wait times for tables. The bar never took advance dining reservations; guests had to wait in a physical queue to get their names on the walk-up list.
In 2018, Cove Bar closed permanently. It was replaced by Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining, but the menu included some familiar favorites – namely, those Lobster Nachos – and the seating area kept its great views of Paradise Bay.
And guest interest never died down, despite the lack of reservations. Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining is still one of the best dining spots in all of Disneyland.
It’s Always Tough to Get a Table at Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining
Since Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining first opened as Cove Bar back in 2001, it’s been one of the toughest places to get a table at. Thanks to its cult-favorite Lobster Nachos, the incredibly long list of “secret menu” drinks, and its standout waterfront views, there’s always a long line of guests waiting to be seated.
While the ability to join walk-up lists in the Disneyland app has made it a bit easier to dine at Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining in recent years (you no longer have to wait in a physical line on the boardwalk, that is), busy days still make getting a table here tough.
In fact, other than a few lucky visits, I’ve usually had to show up right at this restaurant’s opening – or even earlier – to get my name on the list.
Reservations finally being offered will completely change the dining experience here.
Act Fast to Grab the First Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining Reservations
While Disneyland hasn’t made a big announcement revealing that reservations are coming to Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining, trust me: Guests will catch on fast. And since this is one of Disneyland’s most in-demand dining spots, I expect reservations to disappear fast.
So, if you’ve been hoping to dine at this highly popular waterfront (and coaster-centric) restaurant without a long wait, here’s what you need to know: Reservations will be offered starting June 27, 2025.
Guests can visit the Disneyland website or app to book a reservation for Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining starting June 26, 2025. The first reservations offered will be for June 27.
After that date, guests will be able to make reservations for this California Adventure restaurant any time tables are available. And if you want to make a last-minute visit, don’t worry – the walk-up list isn’t going away.
