Disneyland Pixar Pier Hotel: Paradise Pier Hotel Transformation Confirmed

Disney has officially confirmed that changes are coming to Paradise Pier Hotel. This iconic hotel will undergo a huge transformation at Disneyland to become the Pixar Pier Hotel.

Last month, Tokyo Disney Resort officially opened its Toy Story Hotel, an immersive hotel that celebrates the iconic Pixar franchise. And though we just got our own immersive Star Wars hotel at Walt Disney World, we immediately started pining for some kind of Pixar hotel here in the States.

Welp, Disney clearly heard us. The Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland Resort in California will be reimagined as a Pixar-themed hotel. While Disney hasn’t officially announced a name, fans are already calling it the Pixar Pier Hotel. (This would make sense, as Paradise Pier inside Disney California Adventure was similarly renamed to Pixar Pier back in 2018).

Disneyland Pixar Hotel: What We Know So Far

Looks like Mike Wazowski forgot to file his paperwork because Disney’s announcement was pretty lacking in the information department. We don’t know when Paradise Pier Hotel will be rethemed as a Pixar hotel — or even when work will start.

That said, Disney did release some basic details about the Pixar Pier Hotel project, noting that it “will weave the artistry of Pixar into its comfortable, contemporary setting” and that “guests will gain a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters through carefully curated artwork, and décor that reveals the creative journey of the artists who helped bring these stories to life.”

As part of the announcement, Disney released some cool concept art for the proposed Pixar hotel retheme at Disneyland:

In it, you can see the Luxo lamp balancing on the iconic tri-colored Pixar ball, mid-squish. Above hangs a giant art installation (it’s giving off Art of Animation storybook chandelier vibes). In the rendering, we can spot characters from several Pixar movies:

  • Monsters, Inc.
  • Coco
  • WALL-E
  • Toy Story
  • The Incredibles
  • Finding Nemo
  • Soul

Other Disneyland Hotel Announcements

While the Paradise Pier Hotel retheme to a Pixar Pier Hotel at Disneyland dominated the announcement, Disney did also drop some other details about updates coming to the resort hotels at Disneyland. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Disney is constructing a walkway directly from Paradise Pier Hotel (soon to be the Pixar-themed hotel) to Disney California Adventure.
  • The “Hey Disney!” voice assistant will arrive at Disneyland hotel rooms later this year.
  • Disneyland Resort hotel guests will be able to send in-park purchases back to their rooms, starting later this year.
  • Disneyland will soon offer early entry access to guests of Disneyland Resort guests, later this summer.
