If you love Disney and you live in California, today’s one of those days where everything is going your way. Disneyland Resort on Tuesday announced its new Disneyland Magic Key program, which offers Cali residents more flexibility, choice, and savings.
The Magic Key program includes four tiers aimed at helping families get the most bang for their buck—and the most DLR visits possible in a calendar year. Options include:
- Imagine Key
- Enchant Key
- Believe Key
- Dream Key
The Disneyland Magic Key effectively replaces the annual pass program.
Let’s break down what you get with each of the four Magic Key pass levels.

The entry-level Imagine Key is available exclusively for residents of Southern California. Sorry, NorCal.
An Imagine Key costs $399 per year, which includes a $179 down payment and 12 monthly payments of $19. For this, you get:
- Up to two park reservation holds at a time
- 10% off select merchandise
- 10% off select food and beverage
In addition, Disney promises that all Magic Key holders will have the chance to enjoy exclusive events, experiences, menus, and more.
Enchant Key

This level and every level above it are available for all residents of California. All the way up to Crescent City, you can take advantage of an Enchant Key.
Your Enchant Key goes for $649 a year, which means you’re paying $40 a month after the $179 down payment. For the extra $250 over the cost of an Imagine Key, you’ll be able to double your simultaneous park reservation holds at a total of four.
And, like the Imagine Key, you’ll get 10% discounts on select merch and food and drink.
Believe Key

If you believe that you’ll be paying at least a half-dozen visits to Disneyland Resort, the Believe Key might be for you. This level includes six park reservation holds as well as the 10% discounts from the previous packages.
Better yet? The Believe Key offers 50% off the price of parking. If only it could park the car for you, too.
For all this, the Enchant Key costs just $949. That’s $65 per month after the $179 down payment.
Dream Key

The very tippity top of the Magic Key lineup is the aptly named Dream Key. Why is it a dream? More savings.
You’ll get the same six park reservation holds as you do with the Believe Key. But for an extra $450 over that price, you’ll get 20% off select merch, 15% off select food and drink, and free parking.
When You Can Grab Your Disneyland Magic Key
You’d better start thinking now about which Magic Key works best for you. Passes go on sale beginning Aug. 25, 2021, sometime at or before 10 AM PT. Disney is promising that the first reservation opportunity will open up that same day.
Plus, since Disneyland Resort is celebrating its 66th anniversary this year, people who sign up for a Magic Key in the first 66 days will receive a special welcome package. That’ll include treats like a pin, button, and magnet.
Charter Magic Key holders will also get access to a limited-time experience at Tomorrowland’s Starcade starting Sept. 1. Enticing, no?
It’s all very enticing indeed—and especially so if you live in Cali and can actually take advantage. If that’s you, visit Disneyland.com/MagicKey for more details on what you’ll get with your awesome pass.
Oh, and don’t fret, Floridians: New Walt Disney World Annual Passes are coming before WDW kicks off its 50th anniversary celebration this fall.
