Disneyland Resort Announces Special Offerings for Black Music Month in June

Disneyland Resort will be celebrating Black Music Month this June with special offerings such as live music and limited-time Celebrate Soulfully experiences.  

This year, Disneyland Resort has been offering year-round celebrations as part of Celebrate Soulfully. Some of these events have included offerings such as Tale of the Lion King, a stage show at Disneyland, and a Frederick Douglass Exhibit at Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. And now, Disney has shared that special offerings will be coming to the park this June to celebrate Black Music Month.

During Black Music Month, guests can enjoy nightly special live band performances at the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage. These performances will feature different genres that you can enjoy throughout the week, including jazz fusion, Caribbean, and mid-century jazz. Each night will feature four performance sets, with more than seventeen different musical groups set to perform throughout the month. You can check out the full schedule for performances here.

Live music will also be available at the Hollywood Backlot Stage at Disney California Aventure through June 30th. Musical acts will include:

• Midnight Hour, celebrating 1960s hits like The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, and the Temptations (performing Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays)
• Finesse, a band covering popular tunes across the decades, including Bruno Mars and Stevie Wonder (performing Sundays and Mondays)
• The Rhythm & Blues Brothas, a group of singers performing the classic sounds of R&B and Soul (performing Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, there will also be daily performances from DJ Quami, Island Reggae Duo, and da-light on the Pool Deck. These performances will take place hourly from noon through 4 PM.

More Offerings from Black Music Month at Disneyland Resort

You can also enjoy special Black Music Month eats at Disneyland Resort throughout June. From June 9th to July 4th, Happy Ice’s food truck will serve their signature water ice desserts at Downtown Disney. At Disney California Adventure, Award Wieners will offer a BBQ Hot Link Sandwich and Strawberry Cheesecake Funnel Cake Fries, and Studio Catering Co. will offer their take on a Shrimp Po’Boy.

There will also be special artist signings happening throughout the month. You’ll have the chance to meet Ryan Riller and Larissa Marantz in two spots. Both artists will be on hand to showcase their work and offer signing on select purchased merchandise. On June 10th, Ryan Riller will be at WonderGround Gallery at Downtown Disney from 11 AM to 1 PM and Eudora’s Chic Boutique at Disneyland Park from 2 PM to 4 PM. On June 17th, Larissa Marantz will be at WonderGround Gallery from 11 AM to 1 PM before heading to Eudora’s Chic Boutique from 2 PM to 4 PM.
