Disney World’s Toad Burger at the Friar’s Nook is one of over 150 new menu items for WDW’s 50th anniversary.
Earlier this week, Disney released the complete menu for the Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration. It’s got everything from special cupcakes to cocktails to steak dinners. And the Toad Burger at the Friar’s Nook.
UPDATE: We actually ate the dang thing. Tap to jump down to our Toad Burger review!
What Is the Toad Burger at Disney World?

Look how TERRIFIED she is! Photo courtesy of Disney
As part of the Most Magical Celebration on Earth, you’ll be able to wander into the Magic Kingdom, saunter on over to The Friar’s Nook, and order a delicious meal that will haunt you for days. And not because of food poisoning.

Disney’s official description for the Toad Burger reads “brat burger served on a bun with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickle.” It fails to mention that this thing has olives for eyes and a pickle for a tongue.

When I first saw the Toad Burger promotional photos, I was instantly drawn to a childhood memory of Nickelodeon’s Good Burger. You know, the part where Ed is having a horrifying dream, and the burgers beg not to be sold.

“Don’t sell me, Ed. Please!”
“I wanna stay here with you.”
You can’t watch that clip as a child and then not feel guilty about eating this new Toad Burger from Disney World.

Though it makes sense that it’s named for Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, since that is one of Disney’s most disturbing classics.
But You Know I’m Still Gonna Eat It …

Burgers are my favorite food, and no one does food like Disney.
So am I terrified of the Disney World Toad Burger? Of course. But am I still gonna eat it? You betcha.
Disney World Toad Burger Review
Being the adventurous eater that she is, our communications director Tatjana Lazar just tried out the Disney World Toad Burger on her recent trip to Magic Kingdom. One of our intrepid WDW Magazine photographers, Ernie Carr, tagged along to document her bravery.

So what did Tatjana think of the Toad Burger at Friar’s Nook? “That was actually pretty yummy!” she says.
“Just a regular burger, nothing special,” she reports. “But for the novelty factor of the pickle tongue and olive eyes, I would say worth it. And you could taste the cheese; the burger itself was pretty good. Just you standard Disney burger.”
Except, you know, this one can stare into your soul.
