Disney World will be hosting one of ther biggest wish-granting events ever later this year with the “Once Upon A Wish Party” with Make-A-Wish.
Recently, Disney and Make-A-Wish celebrated making their 150,000th wish together. Disney and Make-A-Wish have worked together for forty years in making wishes come true for children facing critical illnesses, and the 150,000th granted wish served as a major milestone. And now, Disney has shared that they will be hosting a major wish-granting event at the end of August during World Princess Week.

Once Upon a Wish Party Will Take Place During World Princess Week
Disney has shared that they will be hosting one of their biggest wish-granting events ever later this year, the Once Upon a Wish Party. The event will take place from August 20th to 26th, 2023, and will be a “full-day affair filled with enchanting surprises, inspiration, and adventures fit for a hero or heroine,” according to Disney. During this event, wish kids from across the country will be “proclaimed royalty for the evening at a ball,” with tea, treats, and character meet and greets.
The First Invitation for the Once Upon a Wish Party

Right now, wish granters across the country are working to deliver invitations to guests of honor. Earlier this week, Minnie Mouse joined Disney Cast Members and the Make-A-Wish team at Ventura Elementary School in Florida to invite 7-year-old Scarlett to the ball.
Scarlett was the first Make-A-Wish kid to get invited to the event. “She’s going to have this super special experience and be able to go to the royal ball as a princess … I know she’s going to enjoy every single second of it,” Scarlett’s mom said. “To see her happy and completely fulfilled is every mother’s dream. It means so much that she’ll be able to experience life as a normal kid at a theme park where we don’t have to think about a lot of the medical stuff that has consumed our lives in the past.”
Leslie Motter, the Make-A-Wish America President and CEO, spoke about the upcoming Once Upon a Wish Party. “Disney is the largest wish granter in the world, and over our more than 40-year relationship, we’ve granted some pretty incredible wishes together. Whatever Disney does, they go all out. I can’t wait to see the new happy memories Scarlett and our other attending wish families will be able to make at what is sure to be an unforgettable event.”
