YouTube is a wonderful place to be when you can’t leave the house (or if you don’t want to). We might not be able to go into the parks and ride our favorite rides, but thanks to the endless collection of Disney World ride videos on YouTube, you don’t even need to leave your bed (or book a FastPass+) to experience the most popular attractions at WDW!
With the increase of sophisticated cameras, these ride-through videos are almost better than being there in real life.
I said almost because I know nothing can replace the magic and personal touch of being in Disney World—but we have to work with what we’ve got (and “what we got” is actually quite good!)
The attractions are open and ready for your viewing pleasure.
Below you will find 5 outstanding ride-through videos of classic beloved WDW attractions that are sure to help you escape into the Disney magic.
The best part is your wait time only depends on how fast your internet is!
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway (NO SPOILERS)
Join Mickey and Minnie on Disney’s newest trackless dark ride for some organized chaos! We were invited to the media preview of this new attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and boy oh boy did we have a good time!
Here is our Marketing Manager Tatjana’s ride-through of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway!
Don’t worry, this isn’t a full ride-through so it won’t spoil the ending.
How ‘Bout Some Backstage Passes?
If you’re like me and spend most of your time on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with your eyes closed, then this is a great opportunity to see what you’re actually rocketing through!
This is a special kind of ride-through because the lights are on!
That’s right—this video takes us on a super-stretch limo through a lit up roller coaster track. I like seeing the details included in and around the coasters rails.
Every time I have been on the ride I assumed that the neon signs that we burst through are actual lights themselves, when in fact they are done in neon paint. It is the black lights that give the ride that effect—how cool?
Do You Want to Build a Snowman?
Disney World ride-through videos sometimes include a glimpse of the queue.
That means you get to enjoy and focus on the theming and intricate detailing of the line, without the frustration of being sweaty, standing too close to other guests, or growing bored.
This ride-through of Frozen Ever After shows the cool detailing of the queue, and even shows the boarding process.
This is still one of Epcot’s most popular attractions, and in summer months the wait time can reach up to a 200 minute wait time. Not only do you not have to wait in line to check out this attraction, but you can watch it in bed while in your pajamas.
My Oh My What a Wonderful Day!
Splash Mountain can always put a smile on my face.
No matter how I am feeling, an adventure on Splash Mountain will always better my mood! This ride has always been my favorite, even from when I was visiting the parks as a kid.
I have been on the ride at least 50 times in my lifetime and watching this video allowed me to take in some of the details I have been missing over the years.
In the final scene where all of the characters are singing Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, I never realized how many animals were dancing on the boat.
Another thing I was able to do was watch the “drop.” I am either ducking to avoid the splash or posing for the ride picture. I don’t think I have ever seen the actual drop, so watching this allowed me to see what was actually going on when we fall into the thorns!
With over 2 million views, this is one of the best ride-through videos of The Haunted Mansion ride in WDW.
You will notice that the lighting in this video is actually better lighting than if you’re actually on the ride—how spooky is that?
This is a great ride if you like looking for Hidden Mickeys. This ride is full of them, but you don’t get to see them if you’re not quick enough.
Watching this ride-through allowed me to pause and zoom in on certain hidden features that I have missed in the past.
Enjoy searching for the many hidden wonders on this ride! I’ll start you off: if you go to 2:37, you might be able to see a familiar face on a chair! I’ll give you a hint… quack, quack!
We don’t know how long the parks are going to be closed, but we have enough content like this to keep the magic alive! In the meantime, take advantage of the short wait times, and ride all of your favorite rides (on YouTube at least)!
