Pardon the pixie dust! These fan-favorite resort pools will be closed for maintenance. Here are the Disney World pools closed in 2024 … and where to go instead.
If a swim in a Disney Resort hotel feature pool is a must-do for you, then this news will be disappointing. But don’t worry. There are some advantages to the quiet pools on Disney property.
Time to spread your water wings and swim over to these feature pool alternatives.
Disney World Pools Closed in 2024
If you’re booking a trip back home to Disney World in 2024, you’ll want to know this. The following Disney Resort hotel feature pools will be closed from approximately January through April 2024 for routine maintenance.
- Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
- Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- Doubloon Lagoon at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
Alternative Disney Resort Pools
So your favorite resort pool is closed … now what? If your staying at one of the resorts affected by the pool closures, you can still use one of the resort’s other pools. The quiet pools at each resort will remain open during the main pool closures. There are also plenty of free things to do at Disney World too (including relaxing on the beaches of Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts).
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
Duck Pond Pool
Located in the Mighty Ducks area of Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is the hockey rink-themed Duck Pond Pool. Even the public restrooms and laundry rooms are designed to look like locker rooms! The five feet deep, 105,438-gallon pool is ideal for families. Don’t miss the photo op next to Goalie Goofy! This pool is typically quieter and less crowded than the Fantasia Pool. However, with the Fantasia Pool closed, the Duck Pond Pool might be a bit busier than usual.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
5 Leisure Pools
While the Fuentes del Morro Pool is closed for maintenance, guests can enjoy one of five leisure pools at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. These quiet pools don’t have the hustle and bustle of the buccaneer-themed feature pool, but they’re perfect for relaxation. And they tend to be less busy too (even at peak times). There are also laundry rooms available at each pool.
Make it a beach day with a trip to Barefoot Bay. There are hammocks, volleyball nets, and loungers available. It’s a great spot to unwind … if you don’t mind the sound of the Skyliner passing by.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
If you’re willing to take a short walk, head over to nearby Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside for a swim in the Ol’ Man Island Pool.
Ol’ Man Island Pool At Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
Keep the laidback vibes going at Ol’ Man Island Pool. This swimmin’ hole sits on 3.5 acres and features waterfalls, a kiddie pool, whirlpool spa, and a 95-foot waterslide. If you’re an angler, you can try your luck at the fishin’ hole. Hungry? When you need a snack or a cocktail, let the good times roll at the nearby Muddy Rivers poolside bar.
