Before making your Disney World Annual Pass selection, review the Pirate Pass blockout dates, pricing, and perks.
We’re not far off from the official launch of Disney World’s new Annual Pass program on Sept. 8, 2021. No longer do we have pass staples like Platinum and Silver; instead, we’ve got new options like Pirate and Pixie Dust.
The Disney Pirate Pass is the second-tier option, still affordable but with fewer blockout dates (though still many) and more park reservations.
The Disney World Pirate Pass is only available to Florida residents. If you’ve got a Florida address and are looking for an affordable middle-of-the-road Disney World pass, read on about the brand-new Pirate Pass at Disney.
Note: As Disney warned, due to capacity constraints, Annual Passes can sell out—and they have been doing just that. For up-to-date Disney World Annual Pass sales info, please visit the Disney website.

Disney World Pirate Pass Blockout Dates
Before the official launch of the new Annual Passholder program on Sept. 8, Disney had already published blockout calendars for each of the passes through October of the following year (except for the Incredi-Pass, which has no blockout dates). Blockout dates are dates for which passholders cannot make park reservations.
The Disney World Pirate Pass blockout dates include some weekends and many popular holiday times, in an effort to reduce capacity and allow in more guests who are buying individual tickets. The Pirate Pass has notably fewer blockout dates than the Pixie Dust Pass and even has most of the summer open all week long.
Here are all of the Pirate Pass blockout dates through October 2022:
- Oct. 1-3
- Oct. 9-11
- Oct. 23
- Nov. 19-27
- Dec. 4
- Dec. 17-31
- Jan. 1
- Jan. 15-17
- Jan. 22-23
- Feb. 12-14
- Mar. 12-19
- Apr. 9-23
- May 28-30
- Jul. 1-4
- Sept. 3-5
- Oct. 8-10
Out of the 421 days between Sept. 8, 2021, and Oct. 31, 2022, there are 75 Disney Pirate Pass blockout dates. The Pixie Dust Pass has more than double the number of blockout dates.
Still, that means nearly 18% of the time, Disney Pirate Passholders cannot go to the park, even though it’s open.
Disney World Pirate Pass Pricing
So how much does the Disney Pirate Pass cost? Just $699 plus tax. This is a true middle-of-the-road price for a Disney World Annual Pass, slightly more than half the price of the top tier.
If you’d rather take on a monthly payment, you can just pay $205 as a down payment and then $45/month for 12 months with no interest.
Disney World Pirate Pass Perks
A big sell of the Pirate Pass is that it gives you four park reservations at a time. Pixie Dust Passholders can only hold three reservations at once.
Other perks are consistent across all pass levels:
- Free standard Theme Park parking.
- 10% to 20% discounts on select dining and merchandise.
- Exclusive resort offers.
- Park Hopper option.
