Golf at Disney World: Golf, Mini Golf, and Foot Golf Options

by | Feb 28, 2024 | WDW Blog

Looking to get in a golf game while you’re in Disney World? Or perhaps you’re just looking for a fun mini golf course for the whole family? Whatever your plan, we’re sharing everything you need to know about the golf options available to you!

There is so much to do in Disney World beyond just visiting the theme parks. In fact, Disney World is home to several golf courses where you can take the same course where PGA tournaments have been hosted. We’re sharing a complete guide to golfing in Walt Disney World, from full 18-hole courses to mini golf for the whole family.

Disney World Golf

Disney World is home to four world-class golf courses, all operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management. Each of the courses offers rental equipment and rental golf shoes, with the option to rent clubs for 9 or 18 holes. Additionally, you have the option of working with an instructor on golf lessons, available for both adults and juniors. Walt Disney World Golf is home to a staff of PGA professionals who can go through full golf lessons with you. You have the option of choosing a full or half-day lesson plan, as well as taking part in a 60-minute Disney golf clinic for just $20.

Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course

Named for its famous Magnolia trees, the Magnolia Golf Course was the first golf course to open at Walt Disney World, debuting with the resort in 1971. This beautiful and iconic layout has played host to the PGA tour for 42 out of its 50 years. Have you ever wanted to play on a course where PGA superstars like Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus have won tournaments? This would be your opportunity!

The Magnolia Golf Course is the longest of Disney World’s courses and is located in the Magic Kingdom Resort area near Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The course was given an extensive reimagining in 2023, with new teeing grounds, as well as a redesigned greenside and fairway bunkers. Additionally, each hole has been given a new Disney-themed name borrowed from a Disney film, paired with an inspiring quote by either Arnold Palmer or Walt Disney.

Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course

The Lake Buena Vista Golf Course is a classic country-club style 18-hole course that can be found on property near Disney’s Saratoga Spring Resort. Take your time while driving your golf cart to admire the pine forest, palmettos, and sparkling lakes.

The Lake Buena Vista course has also hosted tournaments such as The PGA Tour, The LPGA Tour, and USGA events!

Disney’s Palm Golf Course

The Palm Golf Course was re-designed in the summer of 2013 by the Arnold Palmer Design Company. Don’t let the beauty of this 18-hole course mask how challenging it may be.

It can be found near Disney’s Shades of Green and features nine different holes with water hazards and 59 bunkers! No matter how talented the golf lover in your life is, maybe encourage them to pack some flip-flops and a bathing suit just in case they spend more time at the beach than on the green!

Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course

The Oak Trail Golf Course is a beautiful, family-friendly course that is a bit different from the rest! It isn’t a full 18 holes but a 9-hole walking course which is great if you and some junior golfers want to play a quick round in the morning before hitting the parks. Oak Trail is a great course to test your skills, with holes ranging from 132 to 517 yards. There are also junior tees for younger golfers.

The course has an approximate playtime of around two hours and fifteen minutes and can be found near Disney’s Shades of Green. Since it’s a walking-only course, pull carts can be rented for $9 per person per round (plus tax), or you can upgrade to the Club Car Tempo® Walk Robo-Caddie. This course is also where you can play FootGolf!

Golf Pricing and Fees

If you are interested in playing at Disney’s Magnolia, Palm, Lake Buena Vista, or Oak Trail Golf Courses, you can book a tee time on the WDW Golf website or book by calling (407)-939-4653. Pricing for each course may vary based on the time of the year and time of the day. Golf carts are included in your green fees if you play any of the 18-hole courses (Magnolia, Palm, and Lake Buena Vista). Walking carts and robotic carts (which are very cool!) are available for rent at an additional fee for Oak Trail.

Golf Specials

There are also golf specials you can take advantage of, including discounted rates depending on when and how long you play. We’re sharing the specials below:

  • Sunset 9: Play nine holes in the late afternoon at a discounted rate. Click here to learn more about the times and rates.
  • eClub: Sign up here for Walt Disney World Golf eClub to learn about the newest offers, with updates throughout the year.

Mini Golf in Disney World

If you’re looking to experience golf with the kids, there are also two mini-golf courses available. There’s Fantasia Gardens themed to Fantasia, as well as WInter Summerland.

Fantasia Gardens

Test your skills over at Fantasia Gardens, a mini golf course themed to (you guessed it) the Disney classic Fantasia. Play through five different scenes and see if you can sink a hole in one of any of its challenging 18 holes!

You can call (407) WDW-PLAY (or (407) 939-7529) to make your reservation.

Winter Summerland

If Fantasia Gardens doesn’t get you excited to golf, why not head over to Winter Summerland! This course gives you the opportunity to choose your own adventure from either the Summer Course or the Winter Course.

The two different themes of these courses aren’t the only reason this is a special place to play mini golf, but it’s because they were designed by…SANTA CLAUS! That’s right! Jolly ol’ Saint Nick was the mastermind behind these courses, and if you play them, you might just see him! You can call (407) WDW-PLAY (or (407) 939-7529) to make your reservation.

Both Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland have a price point of $19 per adult and $12 per child (tax not included).

At Oak Trail Golf Course, you also have the option of playing FootGolf at the 9-hole FootGolf Course. In a combination of soccer and golf, players kick a soccer ball on shortened course holes, trying to get the ball into the hole in as few shots as possible. Anyone can play, making this a perfect family activity outside the parks. When played in a group of four, 9 holes should take approximately an hour and a half.

Since it is played on a course, you’ll want to note that a basic uniform should still be worn, similar to golf apparel. FootGolf is available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons beginning at 3 PM in the fall and winter or 4 PM in the spring and summer. Pricing starts at $29 for a day/resort guest or 25% off the cost for juniors. You can book here.
