“Aye, mateys! Do ye be ready to parlay?” Here’s what we saw at a special preview of the Disney Wish Pirate Party. 

In addition to two new live shows, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship is hosting a rock concert at sea.

As part of a Disney Wish media event, several members of our team rocked out at a sneak preview of the Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party.

What makes this pirate party different than the ones you’ve experienced on other Disney ships? (Don’t worry. There are still fireworks at sea!) Keep reading to find out what our team saw and heard at the Disney Wish Pirate Party. 

What Is The Disney Wish Pirate Party?

The Disney Wish Pirate Party gives the phrase buccaneer bash a whole new meaning. The Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party is a rock ‘n’ roll revamp of Disney Cruise Line’s signature nighttime deck celebration. On our team’s modified media preview, the deck party show ran for 15 minutes in total.

A Familiar(?) Party Host

Captain Redd hosts the party. Well, not that Captain Redd. But this redheaded pirate is a descendant of the Redd seen in the auction scene of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

☠️WDW Magazine Review: A tie-in to the iconic park attraction? Our team members were all in agreement that this was a really cool detail that rewards longtime fans of the ride. 

Swashbuckling Live Performances

Expect performances from a live pirate band and an appearance from the most famous pirate of all, the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow. 

The pirate band’s set list features classic rock hits as well as a headbanging rendition of the timeless “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me).” How could they not? 

Fireworks At Sea

What would Pirate Night be without fireworks at sea? Although what our team attended was more of a sneak peek of the full Pirate Night experience, the Disney Wish still delivered when it came to what makes a Disney nighttime spectacular spectacular.

☠️WDW Magazine Review: Set to a live performance of songs from the Pirates of the Caribbean film soundtrack, the fireworks at the Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party gave this nighttime spectacular an edge. Our social media coordinator, Aly, says she could almost feel the fireworks along with the music.

What Happens On Pirate Night?

❗ Note: As part of a media preview, our team attended a modified version of Pirate Night on the Disney Wish. The following section has details about what typically happens on a regular sailing.

On Pirate Night (select itineraries only), guests are invited to dress in their best pirate costumes (look for the pirate bandanas left in your room) and enjoy a special pirate-themed dinner in the Main Dining Room. 

Then, you’ll dance off all that Jolly Rogers Barbecue Rib Salad with a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed deck party. You’ll cap off the night with a spectacular fireworks show from the ship’s upper decks. 

How Do I Know If The Disney Wish Pirate Party Is Included In My Sailing?

While onboard, open up your Personal Navigator (app or Disney Cruise Line newsletter) to see if a Pirate Party is included in your itinerary. If included, the Personal Navigator will list both show dates and times.
