Looking for a quick and convenient location to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Then visit Capt. Cook’s, which is located on the main level in the Great Ceremonial House. The options are endless, from classic Disney World breakfast items such as Mickey Waffles and a Bounty Platter to more exotic options such as the famous Tonga Toast, which is banana-stuffed sourdough bread.
Dinner options also range from classics such as Chicken Nuggets to more immersive such as the Aloha Pork Sandwich, Asian-Style Noodle Salad, and the Poly Chips, which are house-made potato chips and wonton chips. Don’t miss dessert options, either, like the Pineapple Cupcake that features DOLE Whip Pineapple Cheesecake and the Moana Cupcake with toasted coconut mousse filling. This is a great place to recharge and fill up your refillable mug.
Kona Island
Kona Island is a small outpost located on the 2nd floor of the Great Ceremonial House, next to Kona Cafe. While this location is small, it’s home to some delicious coffee drinks and pastries. It’s positioned near the exit from the Monorail, so it’s a great place to “people watch” and enjoy a quick treat.
People love to flock to Kona Island for the special Chocolate Covered Bacon. Plus, this is the sole location at the Polynesian to offer the Banana Macadamia Nut Loaf. If you’re looking for a quick lunch or dinner, Kona Island offers sushi options as well, such as the Spicy Tuna Roll and the California Roll.
Barefoot Pool Bar
Next, we’re heading out to the Lava Pool, next to the Marina, for the Barefoot Pool Bar. Here, spend some time relaxing as you take in the views of Magic Kingdom while enjoying some delicious specialty cocktails and food, served until 8 PM.
Whether you are looking for starters, which include their Fried Wonton Chips, an entree, such as the Grilled Sustainable Fish Tacos, or a delicious dessert like the Malasadas, this informal stop will hit the spot. Be sure to try their Captain’s Mai Tai, a Frozen Margarita with DOLE Whip Lime, or even a Big Island Iced Tea.
Pineapple Lanai
Looking for a place just to get desserts at the Polynesian? Visit Pineapple Lanai, located right outside of the Grand Ceremonial House, for one of only a few places to get a boozy Dole Whip at Disney World. Pineapple Lanai offers different iterations of DOLE Whips, from Soft-Serve versions to a Rum Floater version and even one that comes in a Souvenir Tiki Sipper, the options are endless.
Oasis Bar & Grill
Located near the Oasis Pool, you can head to Oasis Bar & Grill to kick back and relax with some delicious appetizers, entrees, sweets and drinks. Food is available until 8 PM poolside.
With a menu similar to the Barefoot Pool Bar, Oasis Bar & Grill offers items such as salads, cheeseburgers, wraps and tacos. Plus, guests can enjoy Malasadas, specialty cocktails and more.

One of the most popular bars/lounges in Disney World is Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. More than just a bar or lounge, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is an experience complete with special effects and antics. It is usually open to families until 8 PM and then switches to adults 21 years and older. Visiting this location is so hard that guests will line up hours prior to opening to get a spot in the virtual queue.
Appetizers served from 3 PM to 10 PM daily include Kalua Pork Tacos, Thai Chicken Flatbread, Pan-Fried Dumplings, and some Rolls. But, the main event is the drink options that Trader Sam’s offers. Whether you want to spring for the $62 Nautilus complete with a souvenir mug or want to try the Zombie or Uh-Oa, you’ll be sure to enjoy more than just your drink. Keep those cameras and videos close by since you’ll never know when something will come alive.
Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace
If long lines and waiting aren’t your things, visit Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, just outside of Trader Sam’s. This outdoor lounge features live music and an outdoor waterfall. Most food and drinks are the same as Trader Sam’s, just in a less immersive environment then you’ll find in the small bar. While you might not have the same atmosphere, you’ll get the same type of service from the outgoing Cast Members.
Tambu Lounge
Having a hard time snagging a reservation to ‘Ohana? Or just looking to try some Hawaiian-themed appetizers? A visit to the Tambu Lounge on the 2nd level of the Grand Ceremonial House is in order. If you are a lover of the Pot Stickers at ‘Ohana, you’re in luck! Aside from their other dishes, guests can order some favorite items from ‘Ohana, including Pot Stickers and noodles.
Specialty cocktails infused with island vibes include the Lapu Lapu, which is served in a fresh Pineapple, the Polynesian Mai Tai, the Pina CoLAVA and a Rum Swizzle, among other things. Whether this is just a stop or the destination, you’ll be glad you visited Tambu Lounge.
