Disney packed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets with hidden details. Here are 10 Muppets Easter eggs and references you won’t want to miss on your next ride.

While it’s understandable to have mixed feelings when an attraction is closed for refurbishment, inevitably, one of the things I am most excited about is all the new Easter eggs I get to search for once it re-opens. And the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is no exception.

Muppets Easter Eggs on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Disney packed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets with references to MuppetVision 3D, The Muppet Movie, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and even some deep-cut Muppets history. From hidden props to emotional tributes, here are 10 Easter eggs you won’t want to miss on your next ride.

Sam Eagle’s Hidden MuppetVision 3D Reference

Listen, I can’t be the only person who would want to be in Sam Eagle’s book club – especially because of gems like this. Tucked away in the pre-show of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, you will see a small assortment of books. While they might look unremarkable at first glance, it seems that one of Mr. Eagle’s collection found its way into The Electric Mayhem’s rehearsal room. This particular title is a direct reference to the end of MuppetVision 3D when Sam, unfortunately, has his dreams of a glorious three-hour finale cut short by Kermit.

Bonus Side-Note: For all of you big Muppets fans out there, this particular MuppetVision 3D reference is also tied to The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History, which ran from 2016 to 2019 at the Magic Kingdom. There, The Muppets sang a song titled “Great Moments in History… But Only The American Parts.” We can rest easy knowing this show gave us a small glimpse into the finale that never was.

Studebaker Model from The Muppet Movie 

Who could forget the stunning 1951 Studebaker Commander Fozzie drove in 1979’s The Muppet Movie? Well, if your memory needs a bit of jogging, look no further than on a shelf across from the loading area of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. As you queue up and prepare to board your L.I.M.O., courtesy of Dr. Bunson Hondeydew, be sure to scan the left-most shelves across the loading platform. There, tucked away, you will see a small model of the Studebaker.

Frankly, I’m happy to see it lives on here since, in The Muppet Movie, it gets traded away for a 1949 Ford Super De Luxe. 

The Fate of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s Famous Marble Doors

Dear reader, cast your memory to your wait in the line of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. As you walk through the winding switchback queue and approach the entry atrium filled with Aerosmith setlists, do you remember the doors you walked through, completely covered in marbles? 

I know I do – but that’s likely because, as a very bored child and teenager, I would play with the marbles on the door to distract myself from the wait. If you were curious about where those marbles ended up, look no further than a jar tucked away amongst Gonzo’s stunt gear in the pre-load area. As a bonus, you can see the marbles referenced in Angus McGonagle’s poster advertising “More than just gargles – He also has MARBLES! Curator of the finest marble doors!”

You wouldn’t want a boring door, either. 

Bonus: How many of you knew Angus McGonagle was a Muppet? I know I didn’t until I started my deep dive in the queue of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster while searching for these Easter eggs. My life is all the better knowing he exists. 

Gonzo’s Keys

In another callback to MuppetVision 3D, we have a sign on the door of Gonzo’s Stunt School located within the back alley of the pre-load queue. If you take a moment to read, you’ll see that Gonzo is currently out, so the school is closed. But, should you need to go inside, you can find the keys under the mat.

This is a direct pull from MuppetVision 3D, where you could find a similar message from security and, if you were enterprising enough to look under the mat, you would indeed find a key to the door. Now that he has moved locations to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, instead of finding a key to a lock under his mat, you’ll find a selection of piano keys. 

Thankfully, I love a pun just as much as Gonzo the Great. 

Is That The Electric Mayhem? 

As a part of this reimagining of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the Imagineering team partnered with The Muppets to create 31 minutes of brand-new footage that can only be seen while waiting in the standby queue. When you pass through the atrium, you’ll see screens playing live updates as fans await the arrival of The Electric Mayhem. If you watch for long enough, you’re sure to see some very fun celebrity cameos, but that’s not what I want to draw your attention to. 

There is a particular sequence where Walter, of 2011’s The Muppets fame, is wondering where The Electric Mayhem are and why they’re so late to their concert. Thankfully, an astute janitor seems to have located them, only for Walter to discover the janitor didn’t locate the Mayhem, but their mop and broom lookalikes.

Now, this could feel like a throwaway bit meant for a quick laugh. But, if you look closely in the cages as you get off the ride and head to see your on-ride photo, you can SEE those Mayhem Mop Lookalikes!

Ken Marino: G-Force Legend

While the dream of working your way up the corporate ladder to achieve long-term success at the same company has largely faded here in the real world, in the world of The Muppets, these corporate aspirations can still come true. Look no further than Ken Marino, who, after toiling for years fetching coffee and… guitars, has risen through the ranks of G-Force and now has an Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award.

That’s right, Ken is a direct callback to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith as the employee in the studio who is working the mixer for the band. Thankfully, The Muppets are now calling him by name and recognizing his years of effort.  

And, in his own words, “Look at me now, baby!” We’re proud of you, Ken. 

Leftovers from PizzeRizzo

I’m not going to sit here and pretend I’m sad that we lost the puffy pizza from your favorite rat and mine, but I am quite sad we lost the hilariously themed quick service spot. Thankfully, for all you rat pizza enthusiasts, there is still a nod to our beloved rodent’s food empire.

During the pre-show of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, be sure to look at what the penguins are munching on in the recording booth. Just to their right, you’ll see a PizzeRizzo pizza box with the remnants of their lunch. It’s nice to see someone was still enjoying the pizza.

Also, make sure to take a look at the laundry hanging above the coaster launch. There you’ll see a PizzeRizzo apron drying in the gusts of wind caused by the super stretch L.I.M.O. as it takes off. 

It’s An Obligatory Easter Egg

The Muppets have a particular brand of humor that I know we all resonate with. (Okay, I might be projecting with that one.) They’re able to break that fourth wall in a charming way to call out the ludicrous premise of beloved stories and, more regularly, their own antics. 

So, when it came time to reimagine Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, The Muppets knew better than anyone there would need to be some really killer Easter eggs. But, they wanted us to know that THEY knew… ya know?

After you’ve launched into the coaster with the sweet sounds of Electric Mayhem tickling your ears, be sure to keep your eyes open for a yellow sign with “OBLIGATORY EASTER EGG” plastered on it. It’s a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, but all the more satisfying because of who is also featured on the sign: Waldo, the spirit of 3D from MuppetVision 3D!

The Original MuppetVision 3D Seats

This is a fun one. While it might be tough to see from the queue, as you exit from the pre-show rooms, be sure to crane your neck to the right. There, you’ll see a stack of crates that were once housed in MuppetVision 3D.

But, at the very top, you will see two chairs barely peeking out from their box. Those are the old seats from MuppetVision 3D! It’s nice to see they still have a home watching guests launch on their way to the Electric Mayhem concert.

The Emotional MuppetVision 3D Closing Tribute

If there is one lesson you can take away from this list, it is: always look at bulletin boards in queues. Imagineers love to hide deep cut references on bulletin boards because they’re often tucked away, and they know the true Easter egg enjoyers will get a kick out of what they find. 

On Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, it’s no different. Just before you board your L.I.M.O. there will be a large bulletin board on the back wall. Now, in order to get a closer look, you will need to (kindly) ask a Cast Member to take a peek – but I promise it’s worth it.

While there are quite a few Easter eggs hidden here, my favorite is the Parking Lease Agreement with Dr. Bunson Honeydew as the new first floor tenant at G-Force Records. This alone is a fun document, but what makes it even better is the date it was signed: June 7, 2025. 

Or, the date MuppetVision 3D closed. 

Alright, who’s cutting onions in here?

BONUS: The Man (Muppet?) Himself

That’s right, you get 11 Easter eggs for the price of 10! Lucky you. 

I couldn’t make a list of the Easter eggs found in Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and not mention Jim Henson. As you exit your ride vehicle and hurriedly make your way to look at your on-ride photo, I encourage you to slow down and turn around. 

If you look up on the top of the door frame as you enter the on-ride photo room, with The Electric Mayhem ringing in your ears, you’ll see the Muppet version of Jim Henson, appropriately named “Jim,” in a portrait above you. This originally sat in MuppetVision 3D and is a tribute to the creator of The Muppets.

Jim, the Muppet, is a member of the County Trio, a Muppet band that consisted of Jim, Frank, and Jerry. Each of the three members was designed to look and dress like their respective performers: Jim, for Jim Henson, Frank, for Frank Oz, and Jerry, for Jerry Nelson. 

While this does pull on my heartstrings, it also, once again, reinforces my own deep-seated desire to see what I would look like as a Muppet. Alas, we’re going to file that one away under: Pipe Dream.

There you have it: 11 of my favorite Muppets Easter eggs to look for in the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets! Frankly, I’m so incredibly happy the Imagineering team decided to honor both MuppetVision 3D and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (presented by Hanes) in the updated attraction.
