New Disney Cruise Magic Shots add a layer of, well, magic to the photography onboard your favorite Disney Cruise Line ship.
Disney Cruise Line has been building toward the maiden voyage of its newest ship, the Disney Wish, next year, introducing new interactive elements and the coolest water slide aboard a ship I’ve ever seen.
But Disney Cruise Imagineers haven’t put all their attention on the Wish. Regardless of which ship you board, you’ll now have the ability to take advantage of Magic Shots, a beloved park PhotoPass feature that puts your favorite Disney characters, magically, into your family photos.
What Disney Characters Are Included in Magic Shots on Disney Cruise Line?

You’ll be able to add several classic Disney characters to your photo memories aboard a Disney Cruise. On the ship, available Magic Shot characters include:
- Captain Mickey
- Captain Minnie
- Sailor Pluto
- Sailor Donald
- Cruise Director Daisy
- Sailor Goofy
- Chip ‘n’ Dale
- Tinker Bell
If you disembark at Castaway Cay, you can get even more special Magic Shots, including:
- Sebastian
- Flounder
- Hei Hei
In addition, Disney Cruise Line photographers can add hidden Mickey clouds into your photographs.
Disney Cruise Magic Shots Details
As of now, DCL is only offering Magic Shots aboard ships with Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries. To get a Magic Shot, just ask a photographer onboard the ship or on the island if they are able to add in a character. Not every photographer will be able to do this, but they can certainly point you to locations on the ship where this is possible.
You can purchase your Magic Shot photos like all other Disney Cruise photos: either digitally or printed at Shutters. Magic Shots are included as part of the unlimited digital photo package.
