Disney and Cirque du Soleil reveal more details about their upcoming collaborative show, Drawn to Life.
Are you excited for the premiere of Cirque du Soleil and Disney’s first-ever creative collaboration, Drawn to Life? If you have your tickets ready and are counting down the days, Disney just released a teaser to give you a taste of what you can expect.
So far, we know it will be the story of a father and his daughter (Julie) taking a trip through a hundred years’ worth of Disney animations. And, as you would expect from a Cirque du Soleil performance, it’ll have a lot of mind-boggling acrobatic sequences (10 in total).
Now, Disney and Cirque du Soleil have released info about two of these amazing performances: “Garden of Lines” and “The Old Mill.”

“Garden of Lines” is a unicycle act featuring Julie, who discovers a magical land of animation. It includes a marionette and five unicyclists portraying the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio. The acrobats ride their unicycles across the stage in a synchronized pattern and also perform individual tricks.

“The Old Mill” is a double wheel act that takes inspiration from its namesake 1937 animated Disney short, which plays behind the performers as they create a windmill with their double wheels. Owls dreamed up by Julie attempt to escape from a storm with high winds and rain that threatens their windmill home. As they try to find a path through the storm, the acrobats bring the windmill to life with gravity-defying stunts.
