Why Disney Adults Should Consider Staying at Value Resorts

by | Oct 26, 2023 | Walt Disney World Resorts, WDW Blog

For adults visiting Disney World without children, we’re sharing the reasons you should consider staying at a Disney World Value Resort.

I just went to Walt Disney World for the first time as an adult and I cannot express the joy I felt in booking this trip! From planning it all by myself to paying for it all on my own, it’s safe to say that I’ve now officially entered my Disney adult era. I chose to stay at Disney’s All-Star Movies resort, and I loved it so much that I’m already planning to book another Value Resort for my next trip!

When I share this with other Disney adults though, I’m often met with looks of surprise and even disbelief. You too may be wondering why I would choose to stay at a Value Resort as an adult with no children! When it comes to Value Resorts, I believe there’s a bit of a misconception. These resorts are sometimes considered to be just best for families, but they can actually be a really great choice for adults too.

Why Adults Should Stay at a Disney World Value Resort

There are many reasons why Disney adults should consider staying at a Value Resort during their next Disney vacation. Let’s get into them!

You Have Plenty of Options to Choose From

There are plenty of options to choose from — in fact, you have five!

  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Mix it up or keep returning to your favorite one, there are several Value Resort options for you to pick from.

Value Resorts Have the Bare Necessities

Though Value Resorts may have fewer amenities compared to Moderate and Deluxe Resorts, this might not be a deal breaker since they usually come equipped with all the essentials you need. Rooms typically have all the basics, and the resort normally has at least one quick-service dining option, a gift shop, and a pool. The Value Resorts have all the must-haves to make your Disney vacation a dream come true!

The Price is Right

The cost of staying at a Value Resort is often far less compared to staying at a Moderate or Deluxe resort. For travelers looking for cost-effective ways to stay on property, this is just another reason to consider a Value Resort. The amount you save by doing so could mean more money in your pocket, or a chance to put those savings toward other unique experiences during your Disney vacation!

You Still Get Park Perks

Just like the Moderate and Deluxe Resorts, if you’re staying at a Value Resort, then you too get to take advantage of the perks that come with staying on property. For example, you are also eligible for early theme park entry and have the ability to book your dining reservations for your entire trip up to 60 days ahead of your stay.

Value Resorts Have Transportation Included

No matter what Disney resort you’re at, transportation options are included in your stay, and this includes Value Resorts! For the All-Star Resorts, there are buses available to take you from A to B. Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort have busing as well, but they also have access to the Skyliner.

With buses and the Skyliner at the ready, you can use these to not only get yourself to the parks but around the property too. Don’t forget to take advantage of resort hopping! You can easily get to different resorts using these transportation options, allowing you to experience some of the Moderate and Deluxe resorts’ offerings, like their dining experiences!

Location, Location, Location

Each of the Value Resorts is located in proximity to different parks, so depending on where you want to be situated closest to may determine which Value Resort you stay at. The All-Star Resorts are located closest to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, whereas Pop Century and Art of Animation are located closest to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

Value Resorts Have Their Own Unique Flair

Every Disney resort has its own theme to it. Moderate and Deluxe resorts have more subtle Disney touches to them, whereas you’ll find Value Resorts are much more character-focused and filled with larger-than-life icons throughout! The All-Star Resorts have themes surrounding music, movies, and sports, while Pop Century celebrates pop culture through the decades, and Art of Animation allows you to experience beloved Disney films. If you’re looking for more obvious, and louder, Disney theming, then the Value Resorts have exactly what you’re looking for!

Value Resorts really are great spaces for families, but they are fantastic options for Disney adults too. There really are many advantages that come with staying at a Value property, so when booking your next Walt Disney World vacation, consider staying at one. You may just surprise yourself and find that you want to keep returning to them again and again!
