Disney is always trying to find ways to make your trip even more carefree and magical. Direct to Room service is a great way to get your vacation started even earlier!

Right now, due to the pandemic, Disney is highly encouraging guests to use Direct to Room service to limit unnecessary physical and close contact.

So, this is a great time to brush up on how to use the easiest way to check-in at Walt Disney World!

How To Use Direct To Room

  • First, you need to link your resort reservation to your My Disney Experience account
  • Then, use Online Check-In before you arrive at Disney
  • On your arrival day, you’ll get notifications and updates when your room is ready for you
  • Once your room is ready, use the app to find your room and unlock it with your Magic Band or the unlock door feature on your app

Benefits of Direct to Room

Our Director of Operations, Stephanie Shuster, used the Direct to Room service on a recent trip to Disney World. She loved how easy the whole experience made her arrival!

“There’s nothing better than getting off the plane in Orlando to a push notification letting me know my room is ready,” Stephanie said.

She also said she loved being able to unlock her room door with the My Disney Experience app—she never had to worry about losing a room key!

A Few Notes

Disney resorts check-in time begins at 3:00 PM, and Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts have a check-in time of 4:00 PM.

If you arrive before your room is ready, your key will allow you access to certain areas of the resort, including the pool.

Though the Direct to Room service allows you to skip the front desk altogether, if you need any extra assistance, the desk is always available.

Even if you have to drop by the front desk, Direct to Room can still make the process simpler!

“Since I’m Canadian, we always have to go to the front desk to get our Magic Bands, but this way we can get into our room, and then I can go to the front desk while the rest of my family relaxes after a long travel day,” Stephanie said.

To learn more about the service, and answer any questions you might have, check out Disney’s website.

Now, go get ready for your next Disney vacation where you’ll use Direct to Room!

And if you need any help planning your trip, be sure and reach out to our friends at Destinations to Travel! They’ll make your vacation even more magical!
