Darth Vader Disneybounds to Brighten up The Dark Side

Darth Vader may be a lot of things, but fashion icon might not be one of your first thoughts when you hear the Sith Lord’s name.

I bet you wouldn’t immediately think of Darth Vader as a character that you can pull style inspo from, but his costume should not be overlooked. Think about this carefully– he wears a cape! Some of the chicest red carpet looks feature a cape– remember the 2020 Oscars?

Darth Vader has an intimidating presence, and although it isn’t obvious, his unique style can absolutely be considered runway chic. He’s kind of like Meryl Streep’s character Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada in that sense. Still not with me? C’mon- he doesn’t just wear a cape, but he has thigh-high boots too!

Here’s some more proof. Barbie (as in the most stylish toy to exist) has a Star Wars collection that reimagines classic Star Wars characters “through a distinctive Barbie high-fashion filter.”

When planning your #MayTheFourth outfit, you may want to consider putting together a Darth Vader inspired ensemble, instead of some of the more popular choices like Rey, R2D2, C3PO and Princess Leia.

Here are some of the most stylish Darth Vader inspired Disneybounds on Instagram!

Date Night Darth Vader by @justaddatiara

I love this look for so many reasons. #DisneyStyle is great because you can dress Disney outside of the Disney Parks by adding subtle hints with your accessories and color palette that reference your favorite characters.

This outfit is a perfect ‘night on the town’ look! I can see myself wearing this to Disney Springs for drinks with my friends!

Dapper Day Darth by @braidsandbigearrings

Add a vintage spin to your Darth Vader look by creating a Dapper Day look for your next trip to Batuu!

The Spring Dapper Day just passed but you’ve got plenty of time to put together your Darth Vader Dapper Day look for this fall! For more details about the Fall Dapper Day Disney parks outings, you can check out dapperday.com

Runway Ready Darth Vader by @wowcocoa

See what I was saying about capes? I know Edna Mode strictly advises against wearing capes, but they just look so fabulous.

Besides, capes are more for fashion than they are for function– so wear the cape!

I love that adding a brimmed hat can reference Darth Vader’s helmet. It’s the best way to hint at the helmet in your Disneybound without actually wearing a Darth Vader mask.

Menacing Makeup!

A menacing character calls for a dramatic makeup look. There aren’t a lot of occasions where I can wear a read and black smokey eye look, but it is essential when channeling my inner Darth Vader.

Pro tip: Lightsabers are not only on theme, but they can also create unique lighting effects for your photos.
