by | Oct 10, 2023 | Disney News, The Walt Disney Company

Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community, has announced Shea Homes, Davidson Communities, and Woodbridge Pacific Group as its first homebuilders.

Storyliving by Disney was first announced in early 2022 as a plan to develop communities that utilize Disney Imagineering. The first of the planned communities is a development for the Cotino community, located in California’s Coachella Valley. Last month, Disney shared a first look at new concept art for the upcoming community. And now, they have announced the initial homebuilders that will be used for Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney Community.

First Homebuilders Announced for Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney Community

Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney Community, has revealed that Shea Homes, Davidson Communities, and Woodbridge Pacific Group will be its first homebuilders. Each of these companies is recognized for their industry experience and outstanding quality, which they will bring to the Contino community.

“We’re excited to work with talented homebuilders to help us bring Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community to life,” said Claire Bilby, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Signature Experiences Emerging Businesses. “Together with the developer, we’re creating a vibrant new neighborhood infused with the magic of Disney storytelling and I can’t wait for the community’s future residents to flourish in this very special place.”

Shea Homes is a national homebuilder who has been “recognized for enduring quality and exceptional customer service.” Davidson Communities is a private boutique homebuilder headquartered in Del Mar, California that has been building homes since 1978. And Woodbridge Pacific Group is California-based, bringing three decades of expertise with them.

First Phase of Cotino Homes

The first phase of development for the Cotino community will include 300 homes and a collection of neighborhood parks. A third of these homes will be in Longtable Park, an area specifically designated for 55+ homebuyers. The remaining homes will be open to residents of all ages.

There will be three different single-family home collections to choose from, which Disney has shared:

  • Cottage Collection homes will be built on sites approximately 50 feet wide
  • Grand Collection homes will be built on sites approximately 60 or 70 feet wide
  • Estate Collection homes will be built on sites approximately 90 feet wide and larger

Each home collection will include a variety of floorplan options so that buyers can select a style that best suits their needs. Pre-sales appointments to discuss additional details are anticipated to begin later this year, with a launch of home sales anticipated for early 2024. The initial sales launch will include a limited inventory from Shea Homes in the Cottage and Grand Collections along with some homes in the Longtable Park residences.
