Oogie Boogie Bash Activities, Attractions, and Entertainment

There’s so much to do during Oogie Boogie Bash that it can be tough to pick! In addition to experiencing a number of California Adventure’s usual attractions, there are also plenty of special event-only features you won’t want to miss. What, exactly, is in store? The following are the key hallmarks each year, so you’ll want to make sure you check them out.

Entertainment offerings may vary by year. Disney has announced the new Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake for 2026, with additional entertainment details expected closer to the start of the season.

Mickey’s Trick and Treat

When it comes to family-friendly and interactive fun, you can’t beat this super costume party. Featuring Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and their friends, this wacky stage show features fun Halloween costumes, some silly surprises, colorful video projections, and plenty of special effects. And, of course, there are even exciting surprises! It’s an especially thrilling show for little ones or those who prefer laughing over being spooked.

Mickey’s Trick and Treat is also presented during regular daytime operations in Disney California Adventure during Halloween Time, making it a great option for families who aren’t attending Oogie Boogie Bash.

Treat Trails

Who doesn’t love trick-or-treating? Guests of every age can collect delicious treats, like M&M’s, Skittles, and Snickers, along the many different treat trails sprinkled throughout California Adventure. Each trail features Halloween-inspired music, special themed decor, and appearances by some of Disney’s most memorable characters.

And in 2026, the villain lineup is getting even more delightfully devious. Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove will make her Oogie Boogie Bash debut, bringing her potion-making prowess and over-the-top personality to the party. She’ll be joined by Ernesto de la Cruz from Pixar’s Coco and Hades from Hercules.

These immersive character appearances are one of the biggest reasons to make time for the treat trails during Oogie Boogie Bash. Rather than traditional meet-and-greets, the villains typically interact with guests from elaborate themed sets as partygoers make their way through the trail collecting candy.

Villains Grove

During Oogie Boogie Bash, villains take center stage – and you’ll have the chance to see them turn a whole forest into a mystical, magical world of lights and sounds. Both spooky and visually stunning, Villains Grove transforms Redwood Creek Challenge Trail into a misty, bewitching world where popular Disney villains await. It’s like stepping into the worlds of Dr. Facilier, Frollo, Scar, and more. There’s always a long, winding queue for this must-see!

Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake

New for 2026, Oogie Boogie Bash introduces Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake, a Haunted Mansion-inspired street party taking place throughout Disney California Adventure. Hosted by Madame Leota herself, this new entertainment offering brings happy haunts, ghostly dancers, and supernatural surprises into the streets of the park.

Inspired by the iconic Haunted Mansion attraction, the experience blends spooky fun with Disney storytelling and is expected to become one of the signature entertainment offerings of the event.

Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party

Guests looking for an upgraded experience can purchase the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party. New for 2026, the dessert party includes a selection of themed treats inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas and reserved viewing for Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake.

Must-Dos and Must-Sees at Oogie Boogie Bash

In addition to the fun mentioned above, there are a few other key pieces of Oogie Boogie Bash that can take your party experience to the next level. Here are the must-dos and must-sees you’ll want to add to your itinerary, whether it’s your first bash or your third.

Dress Up in Costume

Halloween costumes are where the fun begins at every Oogie Boogie Bash event! Adults and kids alike can get dressed up in costumes, and most do come in their most frightfully fun options. It’s as fun to choose your costume as it is to see how creative other Guests have gotten when you attend. While you don’t have to dress up as your favorite Disney character, many attendees do choose to do so. And you’ll be amazed at just how cool some costumes can be!

Catch Rare Photo Opportunities with Disney Characters

Whether you’re donning a costume or not, you definitely don’t want to miss the chance to get a meet and greet with the rare Disney characters who appear during Oogie Boogie Bash. While you’ll find famous villains hanging out in treat trails, you can wander through California Adventure and snap photos with a whole cast of other characters. In years past, Guests have been able to catch Mulan, Hercules, Robin Hood, and Prince John, Smee, and others who aren’t often spotted.

Guests can also look for Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman, adding even more rarely seen characters to this year’s event.

See Spooky Decor and Try Themed Treats

California Adventure Park isn’t just home to your average Halloween decor during Oogie Boogie Bash – it’s truly transformed. From brightly-colored projections that feature a spooky array of skeletons, bats, and more illuminating buildings to hauntingly catchy music playing throughout the park to bats circling the top of Carthay Circle, it’s an immersive experience. And best of all, the decor and effects are all designed to be family-friendly, both in their level of spookiness and their volume.

Additionally, you’ll find Halloween-inspired and themed treats available to enjoy during the event. While you’ll be collecting plenty of candy and other treats as you trick-or-treat along the various trails, you’ll also want to make time to pop into quick-service restaurants and shops to try some fun and spooky treats.
