✔ Get some holiday feels

I’m a planner, so every trip to Walt Disney World has a to do list. For one of my trips, quite a few items on the list required a visit to Disney Springs.

Choosing Your Disney Springs Area Resort Hotel

When choosing a Walt Disney World hotel, I start with where I’ll be spending most of my time and which resort has the easiest ways to get me there. Another priority for this trip was limiting our use of group transportation. We wanted to use our feet as much as possible

With me on the trip was my 20-year-old son Austin. His favorite place at Walt Disney World is Disney Springs. He’s also in a competition with his friends on how many steps they can do in a day, so he was totally game for a lot of walking. For this trip, we chose to stay at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort.

It was one of only a few Disney resorts near Disney Springs open, and I really prefer to stay on Disney property.

TOP FIVE RESORTS IN THE DISNEY SPRINGS AREA

There are actually 11 hotels from which you can either walk or boat to Disney Springs. Four of the options are Disney resort hotels, and seven fall into the category of “More Great Accommodations” in the reservation system on DisneyWorld.com.

It might take a while to research 11 options, so here is a list of my top 5 Disney Springs area Resorts and Hotels.

#1 Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter

Transportation: Boat or Bus to Disney Springs

Hotel Price: Moderate

Port Orleans French Quarter has standard rooms with one king or two queens. The price ranges from $392-$429

Why stay here: “Welcome to Port Orleans French Quarter, the moderate that feels like a deluxe.” This quote was from a Disney bus driver, and he is so right.

POFQ really does feel like a deluxe resort. The grounds are just gorgeous, with a real New Orleans vibe, the food is delicious, and there is even a fun lounge to help you unwind before heading to your room.

It’s also one of the smallest Disney resorts and is completely walkable. It’s one of the few resorts we’ve stayed at where my feet DO NOT start screaming at the mere thought of that walk to my room after a long day at the parks.

Tip: Mickey-shaped beignets freshly made to order! Visit Sassagoula Float Works, especially in the evening, for a bag. At Scat Cat Lounge, you can get the Baton Rouge Beignets. They are standard shaped beignets jazzed up with a shot of liquor you can inject inside.

#2 Disney Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

Transportation: Walk, boat, or bus to Disney Springs

Hotel Price: Deluxe
Saratoga Springs has standard rooms, studios, and 1,2 and 3 bedroom and Treehouse villas. A standard room at the beginning of March in 2021 could run you about $525 a night with a Treehouse Villa that sleeps 9 running at $1450 a night.

Why stay here: This is the only Disney resort hotel that you can walk to and from Disney Springs. It has fun Disney horse details in the lobby and is undergoing refurbishment, so most of the rooms will feel like new.

Tip: Saratoga Springs is huge. There are five different areas of the resort plus the Treehouse Villas. If you want to be as close as possible to Disney Springs but not pay for the more expensive rooms in Congress Park (the closest to Disney Springs) ask for a room in the 6501-6836 area of The Paddock.

The walk from our room in the 6500 area in The Paddock to the entrance near Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique was about 15 minutes.

#3 Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista

Transportation: Walk to Disney Springs

Hotel Price: Value
The Wyndham Garden has king or two queen rooms with a variety of views. Depending on the time of year and view, rates vary between $104-$370.

Why stay here: In just seven minutes, you can get from the hotel to the Co-op Marketplace in Disney Springs, home of two of my favorite shops, The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane and Wonderground Gallery

During typical operations, Wyndham Lake Buena Vista has a Disney character meal.

Tip: The Wyndham Garden is within the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista complex. The Garden is a value hotel, while the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista is a deluxe. Both are just a pedestrian bridge away from Disney Springs!

#4 Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista

Transportation: Walk to Disney Springs

Hotel Price: Deluxe

Both suites and standard rooms are available, and rates can run from about $139 up to $342 a night.

Why stay here: My Disney bestie and WDW AP Jamie loves this resort because it has a pedestrian bridge that “crosses the road and plops ya right in the Springs!” It competes with Wyndham as being the closest and having the shortest walk of all the Disney Springs hotels.

Rooms on the top floors of the hotel have views of Disney Springs. Also, during typical operations, Hilton Orlando has a Disney character meal.

Tip: Ask for a remodeled room. As of January of 2021, the top three floors have renovated rooms.

#5 B Resort & Spa – Deluxe

Transportation: Walk to Disney Springs

Hotel Price: Deluxe

B Resort & Spa has standard rooms and suites and, depending on room type and time of year can run $89-$329

Why stay here: The resort has a funky modern style with quirky elements like a bright, colorful rainbow chair in the lobby. In some spaces, it has an Alice in Wonderland vibe. The room categories even have fun names – Captivating, Stunning, Chic.

Tip: During normal operations, each room has a Benson B Frog. He is part of the B Humane conservation program. If someone in your party decides to bring Benson home, a portion of his purchase price goes to support local conservation efforts.
