Mickey’s 90th Birthday

Mickey Mouse made his iconic debut as Steamboat Willie on November 18th, 1928. That means he is turning 90 this year – can you believe it?! To celebrate, Disney is hosting birthday festivities across the globe, and you’re invited! Here’s how you can celebrate at each of the Disney Parks, on Disney Cruise Line, and at home.

Walt Disney World Resort

Celebrate Mickey’s birthday all weekend long at Walt Disney World Resort from November 16th-18th. Guests can enjoy special merchandise, food and beverage items, and a free button. Hop on over to the Magic Kingdom for some fun festivities! Sing “Happy Birthday” with the Dapper Dans on Main Street, enjoy a special birthday version of “Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It!” Street Party, and join the birthday dance party at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland.

Disneyland Resort

On November 18th, Disneyland in California will be hosting a special cavalcade in honor of Mickey Mouse! The cavalcade will begin near “it’s a small world” and make its way up Main Street, pausing for a very special moment in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. What’s better than celebrating Mickey’s birthday at the very place where Walt once stood?

Shanghai Disney Resort

At Shanghai Disney Resort, there will be a special nighttime birthday spectacular show at Enchanted Storybook Castle on November 18th. Guests can also enjoy special merchandise, food, and beverage items.

Starting November 18th at Hong Kong Disneyland, guests can enjoy commemorative park tickets, special merchandise, food, and beverage items, and a hotel room overlay. A new “We Love Mickey” projection show will begin on November 18th and run through February 2019.

Both Tokyo Disney Resort and Disneyland Paris will feature special decorations, merchandise, food, and beverage items this fall. At some of the parks, the celebrations will continue in 2019 for the World’s Biggest Mouse Party. Check out this blog post for a preview of what’s coming to Walt Disney World for the World’s Biggest Mouse Party next year.

Disney Cruise Line

In addition to being able to meet Mickey onboard, Disney Cruise Line guests can attend replay showings of “Mickey’s 90th Spectacular” on Funnel Vision throughout the month.

Mickey: The True Original Exhibition

Through February 2019, guests in New York can visit “Mickey: The True Original Exhibition”, an immersive pop-up art exhibition inspired by Mickey Mouse.  Step through time as you walk through this interactive art exhibit highlighting the journey of Mickey’s best moments.

If you can’t get to any of these locations for Mickey’s birthday, don’t worry! You can still wish Mickey a “Happy birthday!” For the third year in a row, Disney is hosting the #ShareYourEars campaign to support Make-A-Wish. From now until November 17th, take a photo showing off your Mouse ears and use #ShareYourEars. For every public post using the hashtag on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, Disney will donate $5 to Make-A-Wish (up to $2 million).

If you are unable to get to the parks, this is a great way to join in the fun! Visit your local Disney Store* through November 17th to decorate your own pair of paper Mickey Mouse ears. Then share them on social media using #ShareYourEars. It’s that easy!

*US and Canada only, excluding outlets

This is sure to be Mickey’s best birthday ever! How will you be celebrating?
