After years of waiting and speculation, Disney has finally announced that Magic Kingdom Park’s newest coaster will open in April.

Are you ready to enter the Grid? Because it’s finally time – TRON Lightcycle / Run has an opening date! This highly anticipated thrill ride will be open for riders starting April 4, 2023.

TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise will welcome guests, transporting them to the digital world of the Grid to take part in a special Lightcycle race. The ride’s story picks up after TRON: Legacy, where Kevin’s son, Sam Flynn, opens a new gateway into the Grid. As part of Team Blue, you and your fellow riders will face off against the Grid’s Team Orange. The first to race through eight Energy Gates will snag the win.

The new coaster will technically be the second portal into the Grid at a Disney theme park. The first was the original TRON Lightcycle Power Run built at Shanghai Disneyland.

But Walt Disney World’s TRON Lightcycle / Run will make a name for itself as soon as it opens. It’ll be one of the fastest coasters at any Disney theme park worldwide! You won’t want to miss your chance to experience this speedy attraction as soon as possible (and we know it’ll be highly in demand once riders can officially join the queue!)

Ahead of the attraction’s April 4, 2023 opening date, cast members will be the first to enter the Grid and check out a special preview. Additional preview opportunities will also be announced for other guests at a later date – Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members will want to keep an eye out!
