A Disney Parks Tradition Since 1957
This coming July 1, you can experience the first nighttime spectaculars at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Park in more than 15 months. The return of fireworks is yet another great sign that things are slowly returning to normal.
“As we continue to see more communities adjust and ease COVID-19 guidelines, there’s a new sense of optimism with many positive signs moving forward,” Disney Parks Live Entertainment Senior Communications Manager Shawn Slater wrote in a blog on Tuesday.
“We’re encouraged by it too, seeing more families making travel plans, friends dining out together more often, and more Americans returning to work. And at Disney theme parks, we’re gradually bringing back more of our beloved park experiences.”
There haven’t been fireworks over Walt Disney World Resort since last March when the park closed due to COVID-19. But that all changes in just a matter of weeks.
Happily Ever After, EPCOT Forever Return July 1
The perfect “kiss goodnight” is back in full effect with Happily Ever After and EPCOT Forever filling the night sky with color. Whether you camp out in front of Cinderella Castle or turn your eyes toward the World Showcase Lagoon, you can experience these crowd-pleasing finales again starting in July.
For years, Happily Ever After and EPCOT Forever have been essential parts of the Walt Disney World experience. And what better way to enjoy the park’s half-centennial than with a celebratory fireworks display?
Just don’t miss your chance to be one of the first to re-experience a staple of the Disney Parks experience going back more than 60 years.
Get Your Fireworks Fix with Mickey’s Mix Magic
As for Disneyland, you won’t have much longer to wait. Fireworks return to the park with the most appropriate timing, kicking off July 4 with Mickey’s Mix Magic. This must-see show includes fireworks as well as state-of-the-art projections and light displays.
Mickey’s Mix Magic plays out on Main Street, U.S.A., outside Rivers of America, and on the exterior of it’s a small world. The whole shebang will be a celebration of color, light, music—and Disney’s own power couple, Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
And speaking of music, Mickey himself will pick up the headphones to spin a playlist of classic Disney tunes. Expect to hear and dance to favorites like “Ev’rybody Wants to Be A Cat,” “Let It Go,” and show-opening and -closing “It’s a Good Time.”
Thanks to fireworks nighttime spectaculars, it’s always a good time at Disney Parks—and it always ends with a bang. Starting July 1, your night at Walt Disney World and Disneyland will once more end in appropriately magical fashion.
